Angus Cloud's Final Bow in "Your Lucky Day" Thriller, Coming this November

A. Prentice

The upcoming action thriller, "Your Lucky Day," will feature one of the last performances of the treasured "Euphoria" star Angus Cloud, who sadly passed away earlier this year. The movie has secured a U.S. distribution deal with Well Go USA Entertainment and will be premiered at Fantastic Fest on Saturday, September 23rd. Following the premiere, audiences nationwide can catch the film in theatres starting November 10th, and on digital platforms from the 14th of the same month.

"Your Lucky Day" follows a taut narrative involving a heated dispute over a winning lottery ticket, devolving into life-threatening events within a convenience store on Christmas Eve. This Emmy-nominated film, penned and directed by Dan Brown, explores the desperate extents people are willing to pursue for a seemingly lucrative $156 million jackpot, revealing a darker side to the illustrious American dream.

Initiating a thought-provoking discussion with Deadline, filmmaker Brown shared, "the sad reality about hard work and success is sometimes misrepresented. The startling statistic that approximately 70% of NFL players share the same financial fate as lottery winners is proof. As we bear witness to the widening gap of social injustices, our collective faith in this quixotic dream becomes rather lamentable." Brown's hope lies in the power of cinema to provide an entertaining yet deep insight into these societal trepidations.

Alongside Cloud, the film stars Jessica Garza, Elliot Knight, Jason O’Mara, Sterling Beaumon, Mousa Hussien Kraish, and Spencer Garrett, with Luke Barnett and Adam Baxter producing. When discussing his experiences working with the departed actor, Brown noted that true understanding of an actor gradually develops during editing, recalling Cloud's humble and creative nature on set.

Before his untimely demise at 25 years old on July 31st, Angus Cloud had catapulted to global stardom with his captivating portrayal of drug-dealer Fezco in HBO’s "Euphoria." He also has upcoming roles in "Freaky Tales" by Anna Fleck and Ryan Boden and an unnamed monster thriller by Radio Silence for Universal. The deal for Your Lucky Day's distribution was brokered on behalf of the filmmakers by Paradigm.

His ability to uplift everyone: from actors to assistants: painted him as a heartwarming figure. So maybe, just maybe, in a world that’s feverishly hunting for the winning lottery ticket, we need to cherish the Angus Clouds among us: the humble, the creative, the listeners. You did it, indeed.
