Animated TV Show And Movies To Look Out For

Addison Smith

Recent developments in television have shifted away from large, block-style shows that audiences has gotten tired of. Shows like The Simpsons or That 70s show are not an exception to this rule! Gone are the days when every episode was an adventure or story with a clear climax. Now, there is no sense of closure at all!

Television writers are becoming more ingenious in their storytelling strategies by incorporating events after the conclusion of the show. This style of writing is called “event TV” because these stories continue to unfold over time.

Many people enjoy event TV, but not everyone knows how to identify them. It is very difficult to describe what makes an event TV show special, so we will instead discuss some examples.

The Incredibles

Many people enjoy watching animated TV shows and movies. A large part of this is because they are creative! Companies create stories, cultures, and settings through animation. It’s interesting to watch how creativity takes shape in cartoons.

The thing about most cartoon series though is that they are not too original-they are usually based off some kind of story or theme that has been done before. This can be boring for some viewers who want more unique content.

There have been however, several companies that have come up with their own take on these themes and stories. These new adaptations are very entertaining to watch due to all of the little jokes and references that they include.

Some of these references may even bring a smile to your face if you recognize them, which always makes for an enjoyable movie experience. One such example of this is the Pixar film The Incredibles.

The Incredables was released back in 2004 so it is already quite old by now. However, it still holds up well over ten years later as a great family movie. If you ever needed proof that good storytelling is what wins out in any genre, then look no further than The Incredibles.

We get to see the effects of these stories play out on both a personal level (for characters) and on a larger scale (society/politics). This gives us space to feel emotional around the situations and events that occur, making for an engaging watch.

Star Wars

With every new generation of moviegoers, there are always newer franchises that emerge. For my favorite genre, science fiction, I have to admit that I am starting to grow out of it. There is a reason why these stories have been told before and will continue to be re-told for years to come, but we as viewers can get tired of them.

With the rise in technology, we as consumers now have more options than ever when it comes to entertainment. Technology has made it possible to produce science fictional movies with fully animated features! These films are just like normal TV shows except they do not require any special equipment or production values.

All you need to watch an animated show film is a smartphone or computer camera and some software designed to create animations. Some of the most well known brands use this technique to make their movies. Companies such as Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube already have many animation themed movies available to stream.

Overall, how I feel about this style of movie is pretty mixed. On one hand, it is very interesting to watch and see what tricks animators pull off, but also having to wait for the end of the movie to truly appreciate it makes it less entertaining.

How to Train Your Dragon

Now we can add one more movie to the list of incredible animated feature films that are totally worth your time. If you love dragons, then how could you not watch this film? Hiccup is just like any other kid who dreams of being an adventurer someday- he’s got his own dragon!

Toby Gillaum, who plays Hiccup in the film, actually did train his own dragon as a child. He even wrote about it here on MakersofMovies.com!

Gillaum trained his green lipped gator lizard for three years before releasing him into the wild. His story inspired many people, including director Dean DeBlois, who wanted to include the experience in the movie.

The writers incorporated this element into the storyline by having Asger be influenced by Toby’s experiences when he was young. They gave his character some of Toby’s old toys and helped him find his way as he raised his new hatchling.

After giving up his dream of exploring the world with his beloved reptile, Hiccup found another adventure he would later fall under - leading a tribe of humans on an expedition to save their home from extinction.

He learned valuable lessons along the way, which made Forthewinnersone of the movies that stick around after viewing.

Toy Story

Released in 1995, Pixar’s first feature length film is arguably one of the greatest animated movies ever made! It follows Andy Williams (voiced by Tom Hanks), a young boy who inherits a toy collection from his late father when he moves into an apartment with his two sisters.

As the movie progresses it becomes clear that Andy has inherited both good and bad toys; some which are friendly, while others are not. One such example is Buzz Lightyear (also voiced by Hanks).

When Andy isn’t looking, Buzz flies off to adventure, constantly reminding audiences just how much potential Woody (the main character) possesses. This creates a sense of urgency for his owner, as well as other viewers.

It also raises questions about whether or not people will continue to invest in new toys after watching this movie. Will they? Or will they throw their toys out the window once and for all?

This question can be applied to any audience member at any time, but especially now during this current era of technology-driven distractions.

Back to the Future

Many have said that ‘Back to the Future’ is not really an animated movie, but rather a mix of animation and live action. This argument typically comes from scenes where Marty travels through time in his hoverboard or when he uses his flux capacitor to slow down or speed up the passage of time.

However, these are only instances of animating something that already exists as real-life footage or computer graphics. The term for this type of film making is narratively motivated editing.

When filmmakers use this technique, they are creating an illusion by manipulating what has already been created. Live action films also make use of this trick with shots that seem like they go longer than normal because the camera is moving faster than normal due to special effects or quick cutting.

Overall, although there are some still images and computer generated imagery (CGI) sequences, most of ‘Back to the Future’ is actually fully animated.

The Little Mermaid

Disney’s The Little Mermaid is one of the most well-known animated movies ever made! It’s also one of the few films that was actually inspired by a real life story, making it even more special. Not only does this movie feature some incredible music, but it also features some pretty spectacular animation as well.

The film begins in the kingdom of Atlantica with our main character, Prince Eric (Benjamin Wadge) celebrating his birthday. While he is very happy for what seems like an ordinary day, something strange happens - the sea around the island goes completely still. Suddenly, we are presented with the beautiful face of a young woman (Sofia Boutella), her expression seeming to ask “Are you going to drown me? If so, be careful I may not die easily.”

It takes Prince Eric just a moment to realize who she is before diving into the water after her. Once there, they talk about their pasts and how much they miss each other before she disappears beneath the surface. He promises to find her, and she tells him to have fun exploring the ocean because she will never speak to him again if he doesn’t return home at least once.

Years pass and now Eric has retired from being royalty and lives a quiet, peaceful life on land with his new wife Susan (Jennifer Lopez).
