Best K Drama Show
Korean television is one of, if not the greatest driver of international fanbases. A large part of this can be attributed to its rich storytelling styles and quality characters.
Korean dramas are extremely popular because they focus more on developing strong narratives that keep audiences interested. They also feature a lot of emphasis on humor which many foreign viewers find relatable.
And lastly, their use of rich settings and costumes make them interesting to watch. Many people enjoy watching TV for all these reasons so it is definitely an integral part of culture.
There have been several studies done about how much influence kdrama has on other cultures. Some claim it creates similarities in language and style, while others say it promotes nationalism. Either way, it’s undeniable that kdramas play a big role in shaping society!
This article will talk about my favorite k drama show of all time- The Greatest Series Of All Time!
The Greatest Series Is….?
I’m talking about My Love Story. Or as some may know it, More Than This.
My Love Story premiered back in May of 2016 and ran for 100 episodes until August of 2018. It was written by Kim Eun Hee and directed by Lee Sang Yeob. The main cast includes Ji Hyo Jin, Cho Seung Youn, Park Shin Hye, Chaeyoung Nam, and Yoo Si Yang.
Doctor Who

A few years back, not many people knew who Doctor Who was or even if they had heard of him. He now boasts over 900 episodes across various iterations of the show! The show has seen 10 seasons with 11 total time slots as well as 2 movie adaptations.
The show follows an alien called the Time Lord that comes to Earth in a mysterious way and teaches humans about life through lessons and experiences. His name is the doctor so he fixes things when people are hurt or sick by taking them away or giving them new treatments.
He travels around using his ability to travel through space and time along with his police box-shaped TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space). While some say the show is silly, it has spawned several fan theories and debates about the overarching story and concepts. It also inspired other shows such as Supernatural which features a similar main character in God aka “the devil”.
While the show may be focused more on sci-fi action than pure storytelling, it left its mark on several genres including mystery, thriller, and drama.
One Tree Hill

The first season of One Tree Hills’ debut was in 2009, making it one of the earlier kdrama shows. It is set around the lives of students at Taunton High School, which are very similar to those of high schools across America.
The show follows several characters, all of whom have their own story lines that develop over time. Some stories arc forward quickly while others take longer to resolve.
This show teaches us about friendship, love, family, and how to let go when you need to. All four lessons are shown throughout various episodes and scenes.
It also teaches people with different backgrounds what it means to live together as friends and colleagues, and how to work through differences. This show will make you feel some type of way for every character, but you will eventually come out feeling good about yourself.
Breaking Bad

A lot of people consider this show to be about drug trafficking, but that is not quite true. While there are drugs in the show, it is more accurately described as a show about power. Walter White becomes involved with crystal meth after he realizes how much money he can make by producing it himself and selling it.
He eventually crosses the line when he starts cooking large amounts of the substance for personal use, which is where things get really crazy.
The writers constantly emphasize just how powerful white is as an ingredient in the process, making his own supply stronger and higher quality. This effect also works in reverse- he becomes weaker as his self control over using methamphetamine breaks down.
His story arc is telling us what happens when someone gives up their inner strength or “power”. It is an interesting watch because you never know if Walt will win or lose, but you always feel invested in him. He is very humanizing and lovable even when doing horrible things.
Gossip Girl

The first season of Gossip Girl featured eight episodes that focused almost entirely on characters’ gossiping. This gave the show its name, but it was also what made the series so enjoyable to watch. All of the other stories revolved around the internal struggles of each character, but this one stuck out like a sore thumb.
The main plot concerned Blair Waldorf (Natalie Westbride), daughter of wealthy billionaire Victor (Colin O'Brien) and his second wife Serena (Blake Lively). Blair is constantly overshadowed by her mother and grandmother, who are both more well-known than she is. She feels insecure about her place in the family and in society at large, which makes her struggle with self-confidence even worse.
This eventually leads to her making some poor decisions, most notably an affair with Nate Archibald (Chris Colfer). Although he initially treats her kindly, he eventually cheats on her as well, hurting their relationship.
The Vampire Diaries

Although it has ended, The Vampire Diaries left an incredible legacy. It introduced us to some of TV’s most beloved characters such as Elena Gilbert, Rebekah Mathers, Caroline Forbes, Matt Davis, and Alaric Saltzman!
It also gave rise to many other great stories including the spin-off series The Originals, which features Klaus Mikaelsons, Elijah Mikaelsons, and Hayley Truesdale (Elena’s daughter!).
The show not only showcased beautiful settings but it showed how powerful love can be through all three seasons. Even when there was no romantic relationship present, we were always invested in the story due to the intrigue and action that took place.
Throughout these three years, we got to see both the lighter side and darker sides of vampire mythology. We saw vampires evolve from selfish creatures who drink human blood to beings with morals and feelings.
While the show may have left us on a tragic note, it made sure to leave behind hope for the future. Not just for its main characters, but for every viewer out there looking to find their true soul mate or believe in second chances.
Gilmore Girls

The best kdrama show of all time is without any argument- Gilmore Girls. It’s not just because it was an eight season masterpiece that made us swoon, but also due to the fact that it inspired many other great shows. There are so many things about this show that make it special, and it’s definitely worth your time to watch some of them if you have never seen it!
First off, let’s talk about why Gilmore Girls is such a powerful show. It’s very dramatic and there are lots of twists and turns, which makes it interesting to watch. This show will always hold your attention since there are constant developments and new stories to follow.
Another reason why Gilmore is so popular is its cast. Each character has their own place in the story and we get to see different sides of each one. We learn more about each person as the series goes on, making for a rich viewing experience.
The last thing I want to mention about Gilmore is how relatable it can be. Even though the situations may seem unrealistic at times, you will find yourself relateable to certain characters and experiences. For example, Rory almost constantly worries about what people think of her and she sometimes feels like she doesn’t know who she is or what she wants to do with her life. These things are totally normal and something everyone can connect to.
