Many of these films were considered beyond worthy for their achievements, garnering praise across all mediums. One such film that has really stuck around since its release is The Lion King!
The Lion King not only won the Academy Award for best picture but also received several other awards including ones for best animation, song, screenplay, and story. It was even nominated in the category of best music or soundtrack.
Not only does this show how successful The Lion King was as a whole, but it also proves just how powerful songs can be. People seem to connect to certain songs more than others, and The Lion King features plenty of them.

He chooses his favorite employee Kevin (Seth Gordon). After much thought, he brings him back with a new position as CEO.

It is possible to create an amazing movie using only animation. There are many well known successful animated features such as Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Up, Wreck-it Ralph, Zootopia, and Frozen!
These six titles prove that it is totally feasible to tell engaging, smart, funny stories through the use of cartoons.

Zootopia not only makes clever use of social themes but also features several LGBT characters which was praised by most. There are even rumors that Zootopia inspired Disney's decision to make more inclusive titles such as Let It Go and Frozen.
Black Panther
One of the most impressive things about Black Panther is how it seamlessly weaved together several genres into one movie. There are action scenes, drama scenes, comedy scenes, and even some romance sub-plots in this superhero film!
The setting of the story takes place in Wakanda, a fictional African country that has been ruled by whites for generations. The government uses advanced technology to enhance their physical strength while also creating powerful weapons.
However, all of these advances come with a cost. They have limited resources so they can’t keep up with other countries who don’t feel constrained by international laws when developing technologies.
This creates a situation where only people from Wakanda get access to cool tech and lots of money. This benefits the people in Wakanda but not others because they're being left behind. It's similar to what we see happening today with wealthy corporations buying up raw materials around the world and then investing in factories to make products that use those materials.

A great example of this happened back in 2011 when Apple bought Motorola, a company that makes cell phones. Since Motorola owned parts of the manufacturing process, Apple was able to save money by having workers do the same job over and over again. So instead of paying someone else to put components together, they built their own version and saved money in doing so, which they invested in research and development to create better versions later on.
