Addison Smith

Finding new music is one of the greatest pleasures in life! There are so many ways to listen to music, from listening to the radio for songs you like or buying an app that has you creating your own playlists, to exploring YouTube and finding new artists and styles you admire.

But what if we took all those methods and made it even easier? What if there was a way to easily find new music via an interactive playlist system where you can search by genre, artist, or both?

That is exactly what Google now offers with their “Genre Listening” feature. If you would like to check out this feature, simply head over to google.com/music and look under the Tools section.

You will see a link called Explore Genres. Click this to open up the genre listening tool. Let us dive into some benefits of this tool and how to use it.

Drake - “0 to 100”

In this music video, we see Drake as he drives his car down the beach with his friends. He starts singing about how much money he makes and how popular he has become since starting his career. At the same time, other people in the song are talking about how hard they have worked to reach that level of success.

At the end of the song, Drake gets out of his vehicle and dances on top of the car. Then, he takes off all of his clothes and glides across the lot next to his car!

He then rolls into the water fully nude and comes back up totally dry! It is very entertaining to watch him do these things because it seems like he does not care if anyone else around him sees him or not.

It also shows how confident he is in himself as an artist and person. People who know him can tell that he really believes in what he does and he is going after what he wants. This is clearly seen in his music videos where he is shown having fun and being successful.

Ed Sheeran - “Shape of You”

A couple weeks ago, music video extraordinaire, director and singer Yoni Blaydes released his latest music video for his song "Boom!". The song is called "Shape Of You" and it features none other than Grammy Award winner and international superstar, Ariana Grande!

Yoniblayde has made quite an impression since coming onto the scene about two years ago with his unique style that blends together various genres and mediums to create new styles he calls his own.

His music videos are always full of incredible dance scenes, interesting storylines, and never fail to showcase his love for hip hop and rap. He also loves creating dark or dramatic scenes which he adds into his songs through use of lyrics and/or instruments.

Cardi B - “Bodak Yellow”

The song "Bodak Yellow" by rapper Cardi B is an example of a music video that features lots of engaging, luscious, sensual imagery.

The setting for this music video is outside a diner in New York City. There are very few cars around so it creates a kind of serene feel to it.

Cardi is wearing a white dress with black ruffles and thigh-high slit as she dances to the song. She looks incredible!

Her dance moves are quite fluid and natural looking. I would say her dancing was more aesthetically pleasing than what most people could do. It also does not look forced or stiff at all.

There's one part of the song where Cardi yells "What? Nooooo!", which is followed by some soft guitar chords and then violins. At this moment, everything comes together beautifully and effectively.

I think this encapsulates the whole song really well. The lyrics describe something happening, but there is no clear indication of what it is until the music and visuals come together and make it known.

Post Malone - “Better Now”

The song ‘Better Now’ by Post Malone is an example of how to use music in a television show. Not only does it have incredible lyrics, but it also features some great bass lines and guitar riffs. All these elements work together to make this song very catchy.

The first part of the song is an introduction that sets up the rest of the track. It starts off with a slow piano before transitioning into the main theme. After the main theme comes back down, the drums come in and then the guitars hit full force.

This TV style song is perfect for any genre! If you want to learn more about how to write a solid piece like this one, check out our writing guide here.

Taylor Swift - “I Knew You Were Trouble”

In this music video, Taylor portrays a psychologist who meets her match when she gets into an argument with another therapist in a restaurant.

The other therapist is played by Chris Martin of Coldplay, one of Taylor's favorite bands. They both argue about whether love is more than a feeling or if it is also a choice.

Taylor then decides to put their theories to the test and challenges them to a duel! If you've ever wanted to know what it would be like to watch TV while listening to music, this is for you.

It seems that these two therapists don't realize how much energy they use up during their arguments until they actually do it, so they keep going back and forth for hours without taking a break.

At some point, though, the rest of the world catches onto their lack of sleep and people start asking questions about their relationships. This includes friends, family members, and even the media.

Overall, the audience assumes that these professionals no longer care about each other because they have gone through such a rigorous process to reach an understanding of the same thing.

This creates a very dramatic environment that is perfect for movie makers.

Ariana Grande - “Thank U, Next”

With her new song ‘Thank You, Next', Ariana brings us back to her roots with an upbeat track that is totally infectious!

The lyrics tell the story of someone who feels like they are running out of time due to something or someone else. But instead of feeling frustrated or angry, they choose to look forward to what their future will hold.

As the song comes to a close, we learn that person will be rewarded for their choice. They will feel happy and accomplished because of it.

Ariana sings how she will always remember this moment, even though things may get crazy from here. She reminds you not to take anything for granted because you could lose everything at any second.

P!nk - “Beautiful”

Many people praise this song for its catchy lyrics, but what most don't realize is that the music video features an interesting narrative. The first half of the video follows our protagonist as she goes about her daily routine while listening to the song on headphones.

As she makes her way down the stairs, she comes across some trash left behind and immediately begins picking through it. She finds several things inside including a receipt with someone's name on it, which leads her to look up their profile online.

The next scene has her looking at all sorts of pictures and videos of them and then suddenly she realizes something is off. The person in all these photos is not herself- they are a double.

Shawn Mendes - “Señorita”

As one of the most popular music artists in America, Shawn has mastered his craft by creating catchy songs that appeal to both mainstream and hip hop audiences. He also uses his artistic influence to inspire others to do better things with their lives.

Shawn is an inspiration to many people. Not only does he pursue what he loves, but he makes sure those around him feel good about themselves.

He teaches other people through his lyrics and actions how to be more confident in who they are as individuals and as a team member.

He knows that being yourself and living your life to the fullest means not sticking to just staying within bounds of socially accepted behavior. Being you is something we should all strive for even if at times it is difficult.

His song "Señorita" exemplifies this. In the video, he is shown dancing with several different dancers of various ethnicity and gender. This scene was particularly powerful because it did not focus on showing off his dance moves or having audience members relate to the song.

Instead, the setting focused on exposing the individual dancer's personality and giving them some attention. The singer gave each person his full attention which made everyone else feel special. His gestures showed how much he cared about each person and made them feel beautiful.

This is an important lesson for us to learn when we go out into the world everyday.
