If there’s ever a question about whether something is okay to include, let yourself off the hook by proving that you wouldn’t say or do such a thing. Your editor won’t feel comfortable publishing unless they believe you’re honest, so being self-aware goes a long way toward making others trust you.
Create a writing space

Making time in your daily schedule to hone your craft is important, even if only for half an hour every few days. When you eventually do put words down on paper, you’ll want to make sure they're quality material.
Quality over quantity is one of the biggest tips I could give aspiring writers. Don't worry about writing three novels before getting something done, instead focus on creating a story you'll enjoy reading.
Use a writing schedule that works best for you

Write when your energy levels allow

As we have discussed, being able to write well is one of the most important things for writers to develop. But how are screenwriters paid for their work?
Most writers get paid between $1,000 and $5,000 per script depending on what level they are at when it comes to getting readings and offers. This doesn’t include paying agents or managers nor does it account for all the expenses related to publishing your script (legal fees, etc.).
So let’s take a look at some ways that almost every successful writer in this business earns extra money outside of just writing. These can be done in any number of genres and formats so do not feel limited by these tips!

A lot of writers will begin offering professional editing services to gain more clients. Some will only offer basic edits while others will do full rewrites and revisions.
This is a great way to make some quick cash since editors are usually paid around 10-20 dollars an hour. The more advanced the editor gets, the higher the price tag also.
Some companies will even pay you monthly or yearly royalties off of the profits you generate for your service.
Freelance writing
Writing is a pretty universal language so if you are good at putting ideas onto paper then there are endless opportunities out there for you to pursue as a freelance writer.
Set writing goals
As we know, screenwriting is an artistic process that can be tricky to navigate for novices. Writing for the film has its own set of rules that may seem confusing at first, but once you get into it, things come more easily.
The key to writing a great script is setting your own writing goals. What are your writer’s must-haves? What do you want to achieve with your screenplay?
Setting these writing goals will help you focus on what you want from your script and give you some benchmarks to measure yourself against. For example, many writers like to use a loose plot as their main goal. They hope their scripts have a little theme, a few interesting scenes, and enough conflict to keep readers talking about how they relate to other stories.
