I will be going into more detail about the best ways to spend your time here in my article "How to Spend A Day In The Life of An Angelino." But before I get into too much detail, let me give you a quick overview of the three major cities that make up the identity of California as well as which one is strongest for experienced travelers.

LA offers lots of great nightlife scenes, museums, and sports events. It also hosts an incredible number of international festivals every year. However, many locals may not agree with how expensive living here can be. This is particularly true if you don't work in the tourism industry or aren't wealthy yourself.
San Francisco boasts having some of the highest average incomes in America, making it easy to find cheap restaurants and hotels. There are however, only so many attractions and cultural experiences that you can access without spending a lot of money.
New York has something called the Cultural District where almost anything goes.

“How do you spell L-O-A?” is something every Angeleno knows, but few actually know how to use correctly!
Many people have heard of the popular way to say it, but very few are familiar with the correct pronunciation or even what syllable order it comes in.
Some say the first two instead of third, while others drop the second one completely. Some stick iz at the end rather than es, and some add an extra l before it. All wrong!

A famous landmark is the Hollywood sign
The iconic image of the Hollywood Sign is one of the most recognizable in America. It was designed by artist Richard Neutra, and he completed it in 1959. He took inspiration from the hills surrounding California to create his design.
The word “hollywood” comes from an abbreviation for Hollywood Hills. So when people refer to the Hollywood sign they mean the part that reads H-O-L-O-W-I-A.
In order to make this work, however, you have to understand how Roman numerals work. And what that means for this essay!
Roman numerals are way of writing numbers in the alphabet. You add zero to a number then write a new letter based off that number. For example, the number three has a capital O, V, I, and zero (03).
This applies to the Hollywood sign as well. Before designing his final version of the Hollywood sign, Neutra originally wrote HOLLYWOOD across two mountains with a space in between. This does not sound very inspiring or interesting so he made the 0 longer and lower case to match the rest of the words.
He also moved the W away because there is already a HW in the name.
The major sports teams in Los Angeles
Team names are integral parts of supporting your favorite team. Not only do they tell you who their current biggest rivals are, but also give you an idea of what kind of player or position they like to have. Some even inspire new strategies or tricks for gamers!

Find your favorite restaurant, bar, or movie theater
Now, you’ve got to choose which place is going to be your home in the LA community. You can either go for an expensive hotel with fine dining and fancy drinks, or you can find a neighborhood hangout that has good food and drink and feels like a second house.
It’s totally okay to enjoy casual eats at first, but don’t forget about us when you start getting hungry! There are so many options out there now, whether it’s through apps or just looking around close by areas.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting something more than the other places across town, but remember, we’re not talking super-expensive here - sometimes a few dollars more for some great food is worth it.
And while you might not spend much time in this area of the city during the week, make sure to check out your new home somewhere every weekend.

One of my favorite things to do in the city is spend time at the beach or pool. There are so many ways to enjoy the ocean or other bodies of water in L.A.
You can take boat rides, swim in the surf, go parasailing, snorkeling, diving - the possibilities are endless!
Whether you’re an experienced surfer, beginner, or just looking to have some fun, Southern California has great beaches for everyone. I would recommend trying one of Malibu Beach, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Sunset, North Shore, Zuma, or El Segundo for your next adventure.
Surfers will always feel welcome at Malibu because of its consistent waves and crowd size, but there’s something special about every body of water here that makes it unique. You’ll find people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and cultures congregating to connect with the sea and celebrate life.
Ocean waters offer us natural health benefits such as improved overall wellness and weight loss due to their high mineral content. The average person needs only 2-3 feet of fresh water per day, so make sure to appreciate what we were not given enough of before taking more than you need for yourself.
The oceans also play a significant role in our climate and environment. We depend on the oceans for air, food, and shelter, which makes them important to conserve.
