How Do You Say Los Angeles
This week, we are talking about how do you say Los Angeles in Spanish! It’s not hard, but it can be tricky since there are so many variations depending on who you ask and what language they speak. Some people may even sound like they're from somewhere else because of these differences!
There is no right or wrong way to say LA in Spanish, but this article will go over some common ways you could say the word along with some alternatives that may seem more appropriate. And yes, all of these are correct!
I've included my own personal translations as well as those of other native speakers so you get a good idea of how to talk about LA in Spain. Let's dive in!
The number one question I receive almost every time I mention this article is "How do you say Hollywood in Spanish?" And for a very good reason - it's an interesting topic!
Hollywood has always been a popular destination for Americans due to its rich culture and impressive skyline, making it a great place to visit if you are traveling abroad. Many immigrants find themselves living close by here too, which makes it even easier to connect.
But before diving into the best ways to describe California’s biggest city, let us first take a look at some basic vocabulary.
Popular places to visit

Visiting popular sites in LA is like visiting major tourist attractions everywhere else around the world. You must do it!
Some of these sites have become too popular, however. More people wanting to see the same thing at the same time can sometimes make it difficult for those who would rather spend their days exploring new sights instead of taking a tour that has already been designed for you.
It’s important to know your options before deciding where to go during your stay here. Luckily, we've gathered some information about the best things to do in LA!
Here are our top 10 activities in LA. Check out more by clicking the link below.
The culture

Being from LA, I always get asked how people are so different in their cultures here. Different races, nationalities, etc. There’s no one thing that makes someone “LA-ish.” But there is something about our city that cultivates diverse cultural experiences for its residents.
We have an extremely rich multicultural community here at home. You will find people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and religions living side by side. It seems like everyone is friends with each other!
This feeling is not limited to racial groups either; it extends to countries as well. We have people coming from every country in the world. And although we may not know what language they speak or which religion they practice, we still feel like we understand them because of this shared experience.
It’s difficult to describe the way this influence works, but just think back int he past week. Did you ever watch a movie and wonder why certain characters acted a specific way? Or maybe you noticed a person was acting a little weird and you could tell it took them a while to get into character? That’s cultural influence in action.
IT cultivates INFLUENCES ON OTHER PEOPLE!! This can be positive or negative depending on whether the influencer wants to create positive environments for themselves or if they want to develop more dysfunctional relationships. Either way, we need IT to thrive.
Popular things to do
Visiting a museum is one of the greatest ways to get into depth about an area. The average person doesn’t visit museums very often, so going to one that focuses on its region is great way to learn more about it. There are many ways to spend your time at a museum in LA, but you can’t miss out on anything important by just visiting the exhibitions.
The most popular types of museum visits include exploring an artist or genre, learning about a specific event, or even studying an object in detail. By adding these experiences to your schedule, you will have covered almost everything there is to know!
Some artists have inspired other people, making them famous. A good way to understand this artist is to study their work and why they were successful with it. At the same time, finding out what made someone else successful is a great way to start developing your artistic style.
Event-specific tours give you a deeper insight into a certain subject. For example, if you want to learn more about art in LA, attending an exhibition or symposium would be ideal places to begin. Or maybe you are interested in knowing more about the history of Hollywood, then watching a documentary could help you achieve that.
Reading material and references for each of these concepts are easily found online and at nearby libraries.
Celebrity homes

With a reputation for having some of the most famous houses in America, it is no wonder that people are drawn to live in the LA area. Many top celebrities have their own house or houses they use as theirs alone.
Many of these rich individuals purchase large properties with acres of land and a feeling of seclusion. They also make sure to surround themselves with close friends so they can enjoy time together outside of work.
These types of residences are not only beautiful to look at, but they give off an aura of tranquility which may help reduce stress from daily life.
People who admire this type of home might want to consider owning a property or buying a house here if you desire such a lifestyle. There are many ways to achieve this!
Some things that play a big part in creating that sense of privacy include limiting view angles, keeping vegetation tall and thick, and ensuring there’s very little exposure to the street.
Places to go

One of my favorite ways to spend time in LA is exploring somewhere new! There are so many things you can do within the city limits, it’s almost impossible to count them. You can take public transportation, use the car or taxi service, walk up and down the street, or just give yourself free reign to explore everywhere.
Some of your most beautiful experiences will be unexpected ones that require no additional preparation. An interesting conversation with a stranger, an overlooked museum, or even walking out of a restaurant for something more fitting will always pay off.
There are so many different neighborhoods within the city, and each one has its own feel and audience. Some people like hip, urban areas, while others enjoy quieter settings with nature or architecture close by.
