The next destination on our list is Auckland, which is by far one of the most popular cities you can visit in New Zealand.

Auckland is known as the “Big City” or the “City That Never Sleeps.” This is due to it having almost twice as many inhabitants as any other city in New Zealand!

It is also very well connected via train, bus, ferry and plane, making travel easy and hassle-free. People are always talking about how beautiful Auckland is so there is a lot of inspiration for those who want to explore more of the country.

Making your way down here will take around three days depending on where in Auckland you decide to stay. We have gathered some information and tips for you to consider when deciding where to live in Auckland. These include info on things like finding an apartment, choosing between suburbs and living close to public transport.

Another popular destination for those looking to visit New Zealand is the South Island, also known as the “Southern Hemisphere’s California.” This island has so many things you can do that it would take weeks to do them all!

One of these experiences is taking an active tour or trekking trip. There are plenty of opportunities to do this within striking distance of Christchurch, where most people travel from.

You will find there are quite a few companies offering different types of treks and tours around here. Some are more adventurous than others but they are all very good quality.

Many offer both day-trips and overnight stays which is great if you are not fully prepared to spend the night before your next activity. This way you get time to relax after and you don’t have to worry about leaving someone behind because you need rest.

Fourth place we should go to in New Zealand

One of our favorite destinations is not necessarily where most people think it is. While some may consider going somewhere like Aoraki/Mount Cook or Queenstown their main destination, there are actually much better ways to spend your time here.

If you love nature then heading out into the national parks around Christchurch is an excellent way to spend your time. There are many beautiful sights that have barely been touched by human hands.

The best part about visiting these places is that they are accessible just about anytime. You do not need to be very fit to enjoy them. Many features can be done as walking tours so even those who cannot walk for long at a time can still experience some of this incredible beauty.

Another good option if you are looking to stay active is taking advantage of one of the many hiking trips within close proximity to where you live.

Some good tips for travelers who want to discover new parts of New Zealand are taking public transportation where available, staying in accommodation that offers free breakfast or use of amenities such as a pool, spa or gym, and eating at restaurants that offer local cuisine.

All of these things contribute to an authentic experience of traveling in New Zealand. If you love nature, there are plenty of national parks and reserves to visit. These include Tongariro National Park in North Island and Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park in South Island.

Sixth place we should go to in New Zealand

One of our favorite destinations is not necessarily where most people agree. That is to say, it’s not to die for or anything, but there are very few who wouldn’t choose this beautiful country as a second home if given the chance.

If you’ve been reading along since Day 1, you know that we love traveling. We spend at least six months a year exploring new places which give us inspiration and refresh for the next trip. Plus, we enjoy talking about all of our adventures with friends and family back home.

With that said, let's talk about one of our favorites. It may sound crazy to some, but none of my close friends nor any relatives have ever told me I was obsessed with going to New Zealand. On the contrary, they always ask when we're planning our next vacation here!

I'll be honest, though - before coming to Asia, I never thought I would visit The Land Down Under. Now I can't imagine life without it.

New Zealand has an incredible amount of natural beauty. You will find lush forests, volcanoes, glistening waterfalls, and picturesque beaches everywhere you look.

Seventh place we should go to in New Zealand

One of our favorite destinations is not necessarily where most people think it is. We don’t stay at luxury resorts, we don’t take flashy tours, and we definitely don’t spend lots of money.

We choose instead to explore the country by automobile.

And what cars we pick make a difference. The average person thinks a vehicle that costs less than $20,000 must be cheap, but that isn’t always the case.

A few years ago, Jay and I spent several months driving around New Zealand for about 30% of the time free (we paid for food and lodging). It was quite fun!

During those months, we drove some very expensive vehicles. A Jeep Grand Cherokee with all-wheel drive cost more than $30,000 new, and we learned how to fix it ourselves. An Audi Q7 diesel cost over $50,000.

But we never felt like we were paying too much because we stayed in budget-friendly accommodations and ate vegetarian foods.

Eighth place we should go to in New Zealand

Eight is for those who want to feel like they are traveling around the world, but only have enough money to do so within Australia’s borders or Pacific islands.

If you’re looking to visit some of these beautiful places outside of Oceania, then this article may prove helpful to you!

Finding an eight-day itinerary that covers both land and water is not easy, which is why I have created one for you here. This budget friendly tour takes you through three different countries (New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga) and costs less than $1,000 per person.

It also doesn’t require too much time spent at each location - you can do most things during either a day or half a week depending on your schedule.

Ninth place we should go to in New Zealand

The next destination on our list is Auckland, which is the most populous city in New Zealand. It is also one of the wealthiest due to its thriving finance sector.

Auckland was founded as a settlement for British colonists in 1841. Since then, it has grown into a sprawling metropolis with skyscrapers, expensive real estate, and rich cultures.

It is difficult to describe just how large this city is! There are so many ways to get around that it can be hard to figure out where to start looking for transportation.

Many people enjoy traveling by boat or ferry along the waterways. We were not able to do this because there is no way to reach Auckland from America via water. However, you will have plenty of opportunities to take public transport, such as buses and trains.
