This is arguably the best way to start filming as it gives you a lot of freedom to use parts from the source material.
You get to choose whether or not to include anything mentioned in the source material, and if you add in new elements, you are free to re-title the scene or even re-write the whole thing!
A great example of this is The Graduate. While there’s no sign saying ‘Mister’ or ‘Mrs. Robinson’ anywhere, the audience knows what they are referring to so it doesn’t matter!
The same goes for using props. For instance, in his bedroom scene in The Graduate, Benjamin talks about how he and Mrs. Robinson made love all night long until she got up to go take a shower.
He then grabs some flowers and puts them next to her bed before leaving him alone with nothing but his thoughts.

As mentioned earlier, anyone can start filming and doing editing with no formal training in filmmaking or photography. With the availability of online resources and tutorials, this is not an issue anymore!
But making a quality movie does take skill and practice, so it makes sense to know who your audience is before investing time into creating content you hope people will see.
If you are trying to reach the more professional crowd then starting off as a raw beginner might be a good idea to re-evaluate your goal.

Making a feature length film is an expensive process that can take years for it to break even. Therefore, before rushing into filming your movie, you must first consider what type of movie you want to make.
There are three main types of movies: narrative films (like The Girl On The Train), documentary films (The Inner Workings Of A Computer) and action or thriller films (Mad Max: Fury Road).
A narrative film typically has more characters and plot lines than other genres, while documentaries focus almost exclusively on one subject. Action or thriller films have larger scale stories with heaping amounts of action.
It is very important to know which genre you would like to write your movie as before investing in equipment or production costs.
Get rid of your fear
There is no such thing as “not being able to act”, there are only people who can play certain characters more than others.
I would say that most people have never been asked to portray someone very different from themselves, but they could if needed. The key is for them to believe that they can do it!
It's not about having talent or being good at something, it's knowing you're not too far beyond your own limitations that makes it possible.
And we all have our limits every day, what kind of person we are in this world comes down to how we treat ourselves and other people. So why wouldn't you want to know how to be like the best version of yourself or anyone else?
If acting was just learning how to pretend well, then everyone should be doing it already, but they don't. Why not? Because some people actually don't like pretending, so they avoid it.
That's totally natural and okay, but now those people are limiting their ability to succeed by avoiding situations where they have to be fake for a while.
