How Hollywood Influence Society
As we see with the new movie The Joker, popular culture has inspired many creative people to write stories about characters or settings that have been influenced by those styles. Batman is one such character who has spread across several media, including films!
The setting of his tales comes from Gothic novels and literature, which feature dark, gritty plots and protagonists who are not like most other people - they're passionate, powerful, and take no prisoners when it comes to protecting what they believe in.
These characteristics match well with the villainy and mayhem The Joker brings to the screen every time he appears. He's an anti-hero, which means his actions are usually harmful but sometimes for a good cause; this fits his personality.
He also uses stealth as a tactic, something that has made him famous among criminal masterminds ever since he first appeared in comic books back in the 1980s. These traits make him interesting to watch and read about, making his story more compelling.
The media

As we have seen, the movie industry has vast power to influence society at large. This effect is not always positive, however.
Many people may believe that movies with happy endings are better than those with darker narratives, but this isn’t necessarily true. A study conducted by Sonja Buford found that both good and bad stories can be just as effective in promoting internalizing negative emotions like fear and sadness.
Internalized oppression - also known as emotional or psychological oppression - occurs when an individual comes to associate certain traits or behaviors with external forces such as racism, sexism, and classism.
For example, someone who experiences racial discrimination might start believing that all white people are racist. Or, individuals from underprivileged backgrounds learn about wealth inequality and become motivated to pursue wealthy lifestyles.
Research shows that exposure to these types of messages can lead to similar effects; thus, they contribute to oppressive social systems. This phenomenon has been referred to as “the extension effect” because it can proliferate beyond the original source.
It was once thought that extended exposures to violent videos would desensitize viewers to violence, but research suggests the opposite. Rather, repeated exposure to violent content can increase perceptions of threat and encourage aggressive behavior.
Popular culture

Recent studies show that media influence society far more than we realize. People adopt certain behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs by consuming specific content. It becomes an integral part of your life. This is especially true for young people.
Many things about our society come directly from popular media. For example, many of us enjoy watching dramatic shows like The Walking Dead or House of Cards in which powerful individuals manipulate others to achieve their own goals.
Other examples include using social media to make ourselves look better, copying what someone else does, and creating fake accounts to promote products. All of these influence how people interact with each other and increase inequality.
Hollywood has a huge impact on society because it produces most of the major forms of mass entertainment (movies, TV, music). Not only do they give you pleasure as you watch/listen, but they also influence what you believe and think about the world.
There are many ways they hurt society, but one of the biggest is internalized sexism. This happens when women feel bad about themselves due to assumptions about their gender made through media.
Movie ratings are important

As we have seen, media influence is vast and powerful, but it can also be very concerning for people’s well-being. When media content is not appropriate or harmful to you as an individual, then that’s great!
However, when media content actively influences you to make decisions that are negative or detrimental to your health and wellbeing, this is another story.
When there are no restrictions to what kind of movies are rated G, F, PG, or even R, then parents will feel overwhelmed trying to decide which movie is age-appropriate for their children.
It is too easy to let your child watch any movie they want, so why put limitations on how much positive socialization and self-esteem young kids need?
This is particularly true in these times where teens seem to spend more time sitting down instead of being active, and media encourages them to do just the opposite.
Parents should at least consider putting some limitations on how many hours their child watches TV, films, or apps. They could also impose other rules like no screen time before bedtime or limited sugar intake while watching TV.
The influence of social media

As we know, social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. It is virtually impossible to avoid it completely, with every major city having at least one nightclub that only accepts memberships as payment.
It is also difficult to keep up with all of your accounts without investing some time in them. Many people have limited time due to work or other commitments, making it hard for them to take advantage of all that social media offers.
That is why there are so many ways companies use social media to promote their products and services. They create accounts related to theirs, recruit members from across different platforms, spend money promoting themselves, and use savvy marketing strategies to gain attention.
The future of Hollywood

As more people begin to recognize how much influence media has over our society, it becomes clearer that we are living in an increasingly visual culture. Technology has allowed for vast amounts of content to be distributed via all sorts of mediums, which have made it possible to consume any type of product or service you want.
As more and more companies depend on online advertising as their main source of income, the amount of ads you see is rising constantly. It’s like running out of space!
Hollywood is no exception to this trend and many believe they can even say with certainty that what sort of products and messages people perceive to be important come directly from the movies and TV shows they watch.
There are several reasons why people feel this way, such as through marketing strategies or examples of things people have noticed about their subconscious attitudes while watching films.
However, one major reason why most think this is true is because almost every movie features at least some kind of moral lesson or suggestion. This includes stories about drugs, alcohol, sexuality, etc.
Many people also claim that the plots and characters in certain works resemble those of real life situations and therefore promote similar behaviors. While there is some truth to this theory, it is not always completely accurate.
Movie reviews

As we all know, movie reviewers are not neutral individuals. They hold strong opinions about how much they enjoy or dislike a film, and even if a viewer does not agree with their opinion, it is usually due to personal biases.
Some critics aim to be as entertaining as possible by emphasizing what makes a movie enjoyable and then criticizing various aspects of the film, which sometimes include things like the acting, storyline, etc. This style of writing is often referred to as being in the entertainment business.
However, some writers go one step further and use their review space to express an agenda that is very different from those who watch their films. These types of writers may try to push an ideology onto audience members, such as praising certain movies or genres and bashing others.
This type of writer can easily distort perceptions of both the media they are reviewing and the public reading their review. It also encourages people to only read reviews that share your beliefs, instead of giving everyone a chance to see a variety of styles and formats.
Ways to be a good influencer

Being an influential person is not about having a large social circle, it is not asking questions at every party you attend, and it is definitely not telling everyone what to do. Influential people are also not always in fashion or using the best products.
Influentials bring out the best in others and they make sure things run smoothly for them. They make sure other people feel comfortable around them so that they can fully express themselves and share secrets if needed.
People look up to powerful individuals and want to copy their style, their speech, and how they carry themselves. While this may seem cliché, it is true - we often times learn more from our enemies than our friends.
Thinking of your favorite celebrities, know what qualities made them special. Find these qualities in yourself and strive to hone them through personal practice.
Create a personal brand

As we have seen, media has an incredible influence on society. It teaches people about different topics and cultures, it shapes how individuals view themselves and the world around them, and it can even inspire you to pursue new hobbies or learn new skills.
Since media is so powerful, why don’t more people use it for good instead of bad? Why don’t they try to spread positive messages and hope that their life will improve because of that?
Well, one reason is that most people were not raised with strong communication skills. In fact, many adults still struggle to effectively communicate with others!
Another reason is that some people may not like what they see being portrayed in the media. Some people believe that certain products and images promote wrong behaviors such as alcohol drinking, smoking, or using illegal substances. Others feel that popular culture values are too focused on money, power, and self-promotion.
Whatever your beliefs may be, the best way to counteract the negative effects of media on society is to develop a personal brand.
What is a personal brand?
A personal brand is your reputation online and off. This includes your Instagram profile, social media pages, YouTube videos, blogs, and other areas where people share information. The things people find you out to be credible and trustworthy are referred to as credentials.
