How Many Animated Disney Films Are There?

All right, so let’s get into it! It is hard to list how many animated films there are out there, especially now with all of the technology that people have access to. You can create your own cartoons using Adobe Photoshop or other graphic design software, you can make Flash movies at home, and there are even some websites where you can use JavaScript to animate characters.

But here we will only be talking about those that are made completely in animation programs such as PowerPoint, Keynote, or Animate. For this reason, I would say that the number of animated films is quite limited.

There are several reasons for this. One is that not too many people know how to do it well, two is that most people who can program a little bit also think that their skills reach the whole wide internet, and three is that making an animated movie isn’t just creating something pretty, it takes a lot of work to go beyond that.

This article will talk about my top five favorite animated features (excluding ones that aren’t really an “animated feature”) and why each one is special.

Pixar Animation Studios

Pixar is an American animation studio founded in 1990 by Pete Docter, John Lasseter, and Josh Cozner as The House of Mouse. Since then, it has produced many acclaimed films such as Toy Story (1995), A Bug’s Life (1998), Finding Dory (2016), and Incredibles 2 (2018).

Not only are most of their movies well-received, but they also win several awards per year. They were awarded the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film for Inside Out in 2016 and Finding Nemo in 2003.

They have also won three Annie Awards, which are given out to excellence in animated film production, including Director of the Year, Writer of the Year, and Character Animation or Voice Acting. Two more nominations include Best Directing Episode for Ratatouille and Best Writing for Up!

These six films make up just over half of all the feature-length animations that the company has made. Nine other short films and one TV show can be found under their Walt Disney Animation Studio banner.

Disney Animation Studios come in many different shapes and sizes

The term “Disney” typically refers to the company itself, but it also refers to what kind of films they make. They produce feature-length movies like Aladdin or Frozen, as well as shorts, TV shows, and mobile apps.

There are five main animation studios at Walt Disney Productions with this name. Each one has its own distinct style that makes them special, but all share similar qualities - such as incredible attention to detail and quality production values.

Disney has released many animated classics

Most people know that there are several live-action films in the Disney movie catalog, but what about their animated features? While some may think that everything with Mickey Mouse or other well-known cartoon characters is an animation, this isn’t always the case!

There are actually quite a few “classic” titles that don’t use any real-life footage or models as part of the production process. Some of these movies still get recognized today, even if they aren’t typically considered “animations”. These stories often mix traditional drawing styles with computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create aesthetically pleasing scenes.

If you ever wonder how certain parts of a movie look so beautifully drawn, sometimes it is because they were completed using CGI! This includes things like character hairstyles, clothes, environments, etc. The artists who work on these types of projects are very talented, and we can all appreciate the hard work they put into making each scene beautiful.

We are always seeing new animated films by Disney

Over the past few years, you have probably noticed that every time there is a big movie release or celebration like Christmas or New Year’s Day, then Mickey Mouse or other characters will be featured in some way. These appearances can range from having an extended cameo appearance in the film to fully-fledged storylines with all of your favorite cartoon characters!

This has become very common because most of these films are actually made by one of the three main animation companies owned by The Walt Disney Company: Pixar, Marvel, and Disney itself. All three make their own original cartoons as well as make sequels and reboots to already established properties.

There are several ways to identify which company produced what type of media, but one of the easiest is to check out the cast lists. If you look at the first line under each character, it usually includes either “Producer”, “Director”, or something similar along with their title. This covers whether they served as creative forces for the project, people who worked on it, or both.

Here we will discuss how many times Disney has released an animated feature film since 1937, the year Who Framed Roger Rabbit was first shown. While not all of those movies received widespread acclaim, they are still notable entries into the world of cinema.

There are many famous stories that have not been told

Examples of this are The Little Mermaid where you choose whether to help Prince Eric find his true love or save the fish he loves, Beauty and the Beast where you decide who will win between Belle and the handsome chef, Tangled where you choose how Rapunzel should escape from her tower, etc.

There are many different reasons people love animated films

One of the most popular things about animation is how it can tell any kind of story. An animated movie can be funny, heartwarming, emotional, action-packed, or anything else!

Many people enjoy watching animated films because they want to see familiar stories told in new ways. For example, all of the Harry Potter movies are very entertaining to watch because they follow a similar plot structure with some tweaks here and there.

Some people like making comparisons between different parts of the same movie, just like you would when reading a book. For instance, if the movie started with an interesting scene then it might lead to another interesting one, just like a good chapter will always keep your attention while also giving you more information.

Another reason why people love animated films is that they feel connected to them. As mentioned before, every part of the movie has someone made it so that you can relate to at least one character or event, which makes you feel for them and thus brings you closer to yourself.

There are many different awards for animated films

Almost every major organization has an award for best-animated feature. These include Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Screenplay of the Year Award, etc.

Some of these awards only honor certain categories while others celebrate all winners across the board. Some even have additional awards given out at a later date like the Best VFX Oscar or The Walt Disney Animation Studios Team Award!

But how do you know if your favorite movie won one of these prizes? Most organizations publish their list of nominees and/or winners somewhere online. If it’s not, that is definitely a bad sign!
