This past Sunday was an incredible day for die-hard fans of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical, HAMILTON! Not only did he bring his electrifying music to our city for one night, but he also brought along some extra special guests!
Hamilton is an American musical comedy about Founding Father Alexander Hamilton who dreams of becoming vice president under President Aaron Burr. He lives with his girlfriend Maria (who we learn later is not really his fiancé) in an apartment alongside his best friend/mentor Thomas Jefferson.
As shown throughout the show, Alexander does not suffer fools or anyone else for that matter easily. When confronted, he is known to be very direct and honest with what needs to be done. However, when you get him outside of work or social settings, he is much more soft spoken and humorous.
His friends and colleagues are constantly trying to convince him to do things other than staying within his job qualifications, which usually backfires and proves how determined he is.
He is always thinking up new ideas and concepts and sharing them with others. While many think he is too focused on success and getting ahead, he truly just wants to make sure everyone around him is happy and doing their part to help the world become a better place.
The show has received mixed reviews
This is your classic case of a popular show that just doesn’t seem to connect with other people. There are those who love it, but there aren’t too many of them! It seems like everyone I know either loves or hates Hamilton.
It can be difficult trying to find an objective review of this hit Broadway musical. Some may say how great the music is while others talk about how convoluted the storyline is.
Many don’t agree on whether all of the characters are like-able or not, some even saying they feel sorry for certain ones.
