How Much Are Universal Studios Hollywood Passes
Universal is one of the biggest movie studios in America, with over half a billion dollars in revenue each year! They also offer theme park passes to all or some of their facilities. These are known as “Universal Studio Tours” or UStours for short.
You can choose from either The Standard Tour that includes CityWalk, Volcano, Jurassic Park, Backstage, and Test Track or The Deluxe Tour that adds Wet and Dry Adventure Packages, Transformers: Ride Experience, Super Show Edition, and Marvel Team Up. Both tours have an average price of $129 per person.
These tickets do not include food, drinks, or any type of entertainment outside of the rides. You will need to make your own arrangements for these if you want them.
We will go into more detail about the costs involved in attending the parks while also comparing both types of tour for value and quality. This article will be geared towards parents looking to get the most out of their kids’ visit to the parks.
Cost of passes

The price for both tickets to theme parks as well as a Universal Studios Hollywood pass is dependent on how much access you want to their services. There are two types of passes, ticketed or season passes and daily or visit-ticketing passes.
A ticketed pass is one that has an exact date and time attached to it. These are typically more expensive than a day pass because they cost more per person. A monthly pass is also slightly more expensive due to the additional cost of producing them.
A season pass is similar to a yearly pass except you have access to all areas and experiences at the park every month! This can be even longer than a year depending on when people renew theirs. They are less expensive overall though because there is no extra production costs involved.
Buying a pass

The cost of admission to Universal Studios is through passes! These are typically categorized into tickets, theme park rides, photoshoots, or experiences. For example, you could buy a Photo Package for just under $20 that allows you to take as many pictures in front of certain attractions as you’d like.
The price per person varies depending on how much time you spend at each attraction and whether you use ride-applications (for example, if you want to go on Despicable Me Minion Mayhem before it closes) or not.
There are also additional fees such as for photo packages and parking that some people may or may not be aware of.
Redeeming a pass

The cost of each ticket for Universal Orlando Resort’s Theme Park Tickets is $99 per person, with additional fees that vary depending on the day you visit. But here's the kicker: You can buy them both at discount!
At this price, there’s almost no reason to purchase the Plus or VIP tickets unless you're very certain about how many rides and attractions you will be attending. And even then, there are ways to get great discounts on those types of passes as well.
So what are these "Theme park admission" tickets if not? They include entry into all areas of the theme parks -- parking being one! -- along with any tour buses and water taxis. Some also include access to resort hotels.
There are several different versions of Universal Orlando Resort’s Theme Parks Admission available, including Value Ticket (no area access except hotel) through Budget Ticket (water taxi only), Standard Ticket (park entrance but no bus or boat) and Premium Ticket (same as standard plus pool access).
Can I use my pass at other Universal Studios locations?

Yes! You do not need to live in or travel within close proximity of Los Angeles to enjoy The Ultimate Touring Experience (TUE) at Universal Studios, including the Horror Make-Up Show, Walking With Beasts, Comedy Shows, and so forth.
You can visit any one of the more than 100 attractions that make up Universal Studios California as part of your TUE ticket, and you don’t even have to pay additional fees for them!
That means if you already paid full price for the Volcano Adventure Tour, you would still get an incredible value by adding the Hotel Transylvania Attraction and Soarin’ Over Europe before exiting the ride.
And since both rides are separately priced at $25 each, it really adds no cost to add these experiences onto your tour.
Is there any other benefits of a pass?

Beyond just being able to tour all of the attractions, you get additional perks for each individual attraction that visit ticket does not cover. These add-on experiences are typically in the form of tours or interactive activities at the park. Some are even full rides!
Universal’s Volcano Adventure Tour is an excellent example of this. You can choose to either spend your time watching the show outside the glass window (the price of the ride experience includes this) or take part in the activity inside by exploring the cave setting and experiencing some cool effects.
For those who enjoy things like roller coasters, these opportunities exist somewhere in between - often both occur almost simultaneously!
There have also been times when guests will receive special gifts such as T-shirts or lanyards with theme park logos on it after attending an event such as An Evening With… which gives them something they can use while visiting the parks.
What’re the pass prices?

Universal has always been known for their expensive theme parks, but with The Ultimate Touring Plan you get all of the attractions at a heavily discounted price! If you are looking to test out some rides or just need additional incentive to visit, this is the best deal possible.
The cost of The Ultimate Touring Plan is $259 per person (or $498 when bought as an Annual Membership). This covers entrance into both Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment! Both locations have great experiences so it really does not matter which one you choose to spend time in.
This also includes entry into Volcano Bay, Aquatica, and Busch Gardens! All three of these places offer incredible experiences that will keep you engaged and entertained. For example, at Volurno Beach you can take part in water activities such as swimming and surfing!
There is also an option to purchase add-on memberships such as Disney's Magic Your Way or Star Wars Experiences if needed.
Is there any discounts?

There are currently no monthly or yearly memberships that do not include Universal Studios! That means if you want to see everything it is very expensive, depending on how many days you plan to visit. Fortunately, though, there are some ways to enjoy all of this content for less money.
Universal offers a discount program known as Front of House (FOH) Experiences. These vary from rides such as Test Track to attractions like The Great Movie Ride to experiences such as An Evening at IMAX.
They are both one-day tickets and fully sponsored adventures that give you full access to every part of the park. They even have them during non-peak season so even if you only have time to go once you can still get a lot out of it!
These tours typically run around $30-$50 per person which is a great way to experience almost half of the theme parks in Los Angeles! If you would like more detail feel free to check our article here.
Do I need to make reservations?
Even if you have a pass, you do not need to pre-schedule any rides or attractions! This is totally unnecessary unless you do not want to spend money at the park.
You will find that most people online complain about this, but it depends on how well you manage your time. Most of us work full time jobs so we do not have the luxury of being able to go to an amusement park every day. Plus, there are some very popular rides such as The Incredible Hulk Coaster that can be quite expensive.
If you ever feel like you must ride something then definitely try to schedule ahead or wait until later in the week. There is always somewhere within the theme parks that you can enjoy the rides without paying extra for them.
