Addison Smith

With all of these new attractions, there is always room for discussion about how expensive or cheap they are to visit. One such attraction that has sparked this conversation is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley!

Many complain about the expense of visiting the park, especially since it’s not totally free like some people believe. Some say that it’s too expensive to go during off season (winter) or early morning/late night seasons. Others feel that even though tickets are expensive, what you get out of it is worth it.

This article will talk more in depth about cost effective ways to enjoy The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley and determine if it’s really worth your money. If you have already visited the park, leave a comment and let us know if you gave up because of the price or not!

Disclaimer: This article should be read with caution as opinions may differ. There may also be various strategies and tips that one person finds works while others may find different ones fail.

I would definitely recommend going during spring or fall break or during weekdays before or after work so people can come with budgets able to spend extra money. During those times, the lines tend to be shorter as well.

How much is parking at Universal Studios?

Parking at Universal Studios costs $20 per vehicle per day. This includes both daytime and nighttime visits.

Universal lots

There are three different types of parking available at Universal Studios in California. They include surface lot parking, paid garage parking, and valet service. All three require an expensive price tag!

Surface parking is the most common type you will find. These are typically parallel parking spots or car spaces that are attached to a building. The cost for these varies depending on how close they are to the entrance and if there’s a bus stop nearby.

Paid garage parking costs around $20-$30 per day with a two-day minimum purchase. This can be done at any time during operating hours unless it’s during non-operating times like early morning or late night.

Valet parking is the most expensive option at over $100 per day! This includes all equipment needed to pull your vehicle up and park it properly, as well as entry into the theme parks via shuttle.

The best way to save money on transportation is to use the free trolley buses that run along the boardwalk.

Street parking

There is very limited street parking in and around Universal City, so if you are planning to visit during peak season or even just for a few days, it can be difficult to find a space. Luckily, there is an app that makes finding free or cheap parking easy!

Universal’s website lists several nearby hotels and gives their discounts to smart card users, but what most people don’t know is that many of them offer free valet or self-parking services as well.

Paid parking

One of the biggest expenses while visiting Universal is paying to park or find free parking. Luckily, you can do some pre-planning to avoid this cost!

There are two types of paid parking at Universal: self-parking and resort-level access. For both, there is typically an entrance fee that ranges from $10-$20 per car depending on how much time you spend in the area.

Self-parking is usually located next to the front gates of the theme parks. At the self-parking lots, there are often public transportation options as well. These include buses, taxis, and shuttles.

For hotel guests, using their room’s amenities may entitle them to use certain facilities, such as pool cars or spa vans. You can also inquire about your level of membership when looking for free rides around the city.

At the resort levels, you have full access to everything including entertainment, food, and hotels.

Guest Relations

At Universal, we have an app that allows you to find out not only how much parking is available in our lots, but also where those lots are located! This tool can be extremely helpful as it does not cost anything to use, and you get full access for one year.

The Guest Services app has several different features. Some of these include:

Find your car - Use this feature to locate your vehicle or a nearby lot with accessible parking.

Universal City

Located in the heart of Los Angeles, just across the street from Beverly Hills, Universal is a popular tourist destination. There are many reasons to visit the area, but one of the main attractions is definitely The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

The park opened to great fanfare back in 2010 as part of an eight-acre expansion that included new rides and experiences. Since then it has become one of the leading theme parks in the country with more than six million visitors per year!

While parking costs have remained relatively stable since opening (only increasing by $5), there is always something going on at the resort so finding a space can be tough.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

As mentioned earlier, there are three main areas within Universal’s theme parks that offer incredible rides and attractions - Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and CityWalk. Each one is unique in their own way with different prices to see them all!

IoA currently has two major roller coasters- The Joker's Wild and Transformers: Ride It Out. Both of these cost $25 to ride for individual riders (no ticket package deals). These costs include entry fees and parking.

Volcano Bay is home to the water coaster Soaring Dolphin Observation Tour which also cost $25 per rider. There is no free parking anywhere near this attraction so make sure you know your nearby hotels or transit options well.

Citywalk features The Walking Dead Attraction as well as The Amazing SpiderMan Coaster both of which can be accessed through MyMagic+ - another $25 fee per person. Park tickets here do not include transportation.

These three examples show how expensive each area is to visit alone unless you have your own car or take public transport.

Amblin’s Studio

Located in Orlando, Florida, just across I-4 from Walt Disney World, Ambling Studio is an open studio space with incredible views of both the city and surrounding area. They offer hourly paid parking for $20 per hour or $80 per day, but you have to purchase that pass online ahead of time!

Amblin has several different filming locations within close proximity where they hold meetings and film scenes. Some examples include their boat dock, hotel rooftop, conference room, and restaurant setting. The boat dock location alone can cost up to $100,000 per use depending on how much equipment it includes.

That being said, there are some costs that are not covered by the business. For example, traveling to and from the venue is typically done by public transportation which can be expensive if there are many stops needed. Or staying overnight near the venue can also incur additional expenses.

The Lost and Found

While visiting Universal Studios, you will come across many facilities and attractions that ask for payment or identification to use them. These are typically “The lost and found” where guests can leave their belongings such as phones, bags, hats, etc. You do not have to contribute to this fund unless you would like to!

There is an additional fee to search through your items here though. This cost varies per person depending on how much time it takes to find your item and what kind of information they need to be able to contact you.

For example, if someone else has the same name as you, then they may be contacted via phone number, email, or both. They may also need your driver’s license to verify who you are so there is no risk of fraud.

This article will talk more in depth about the different fees that are involved in searching for missing property at Universal Studios and some ways to avoid paying these costs.
