How Much Was The Los Angeles Rams Stadium
The stadium in which the LA Rams now play their home games is an incredible structure that has seen use for both professional football and major events. It was once known as the “Stadium of the Century,” but with every Super Bowl coming closer to hosting a championship game, it lost its title.
The 20,000-seat venue opened its doors in 1960 just outside of downtown L.A., making it one of the first full-scale NFL stadiums. Since then, it has hosted seven Super Bowls (tied for second most all time) along with two NCAA Football Championships.
It also played host to the Summer Olympic Games in 1984 and several other large scale sports events like college basketball tournaments and even concerts!
But beyond its impressive history as a sports arena, what truly makes this place special are its rich connections to the city and community it serves. From educational programs to charitable initiatives to famous faces dropping by to honor someone else, the Rose Bowl has left quite a legacy.
This article will discuss some fun facts about the stadium and how much money it invested into our local economy while it was occupied.
Cost of the stadium

The final price for the new LA Rams football facility was $1.5 billion, with half paid in cash and the other half in loans. This cost is actually an average per game attendance!
The total cost includes the construction of the venue, parking facilities, and team offices. It also covers debt service that accompanies financing the project. All these costs are typically spread across five to seven years, making it seem much longer than it really is.
In fact, the majority (more than 70%) of the costs occur within the first two years, which makes this investment more like a one-year lease. Because there’s no formal owner, the taxpayer doesn’t bear the risk of losing money. Plus, most major infrastructure projects enjoy strong public support because they improve the quality of life for people living near them.
Given all this, it’s not surprising that almost 90% of voters supported funding the stadium. In fact, 80% voted for bonds instead of direct state aid, showing their confidence in the process and politicians involved.
Location of the stadium

The Los Angeles area was easily one of the best sports real estate markets in America. With the presence of both an NFL team and MLB baseball team, as well as NBA basketball, there are always large crowds to watch their favorite teams play.
The fact that each of these major professional sports have been able to establish themselves in L.A. is due in part to the availability of good quality seating at affordable prices. There are many different types of stadiums with different levels of fan support, but what doesn’t change no matter which game you choose to attend is how loud the crowd is!
Having a great experience at a football or basketball game requires more than just watching the action on screen; it takes a lot of noise to be heard. Fortunately for football fans, we had some of the most famous venues in the country to pick from when it came time to decide where to build our new home.
We got to test out two different open-air facilities in California: one for outdoor soccer and one for indoor hockey.
Design of the stadium

The design for this stadium was inspired by the Pacific Ocean, the beach, and mountains. When you look at the stadium from the outside, it really does resemble that.
The roof is like the surface of the ocean with waves crashing onto the shore. It also looks similar to a mountain range in its patterned structure.
At first glance, no one would know what the building was except for maybe the shape of the top. But once inside, everything comes together beautifully!
The interior of the stadium features different levels such as concourses, suites, club seats, and general seating. There are even two outdoor stadiums that can be opened up for games!
All these different areas have lush green carpeting and decorations to make it feel more luxurious. This helps create an environment where people want to spend time, which is great for fan engagement.
Stadium opening date

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum opened its doors for football in 1960 as the home of the California Golden Bears, then an NCAA team that competed in the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC). It would go onto host three NFL championship games before it was replaced by what is now known as “The LAX” or Los Angeles Rams stadium.
The stadium closed its door permanently when the Rams left in 1995 to move to their current location in SoLo-LA. Since 1997, Inglewood has been working on building a new state-of-the-art facility across from the existing one.
On December 17th 2017, just over two years after breaking ground, the construction project finally reached completion with the ribbon being cut at the venue.
General admission tickets are priced at $350 per person, while premium seats start at $500 per person. To add some fun into the day, there will be a free shuttle service running between the site and either Hollywood/Universal Studios or Downtown LA!
Prior to the game, guests can visit the In-Stadium Experience Area where they can watch player introductions, meet the players, get souvenirs and enjoy food and drink options. For kids, there will even be bounce houses and trick bikes! All fans attending must have an event ticket to enter so make sure you check out your seat assignments prior to the game.
For those who don't want to spend money during the game, the league offers fan seating licenses.
Stadium capacity

The Los Angeles Rams will play their next home game at the $2 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta this coming Sunday! Their new stadium has an announced opening week crowd of 67,000 people.
The largest regular season NFL games have been played with 70,000 or more fans, so it is not unusual to see large crowds for football. However, the record crowd was just over 60 million people when the Chicago Bears hosted the Washington Redskins in September 2016.
That means that the most recent Rams’ high attendance total was around 20 percent larger than their previous one!
This does not take into account how many empty seats there are at each game, however. There were only about 9,500 tickets left for the October 26 match up against division rival Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN.
Stadium features

The Los Angeles area is home to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in America, including canyons, mountains, beaches, deserts, and sprawling urban areas. It’s no wonder then that many people who live here love spending time outside!
Many fitness facilities offer classes for just that- keeping active while staying healthy. Some even have groups focused on getting back into shape or teaching others how to stay fit.
There are also plenty of parks and green spaces where you can go for a stroll, run for a few minutes, or play a game of soccer. If you like watching sports, there are always stadiums and arenas being used for practices, games, or both.
The stadium we talked about earlier has an excellent workout facility right inside it! There are separate rooms for weight training, cardio exercises, yoga, and more.
Rams sponsors

The Rams organization is full of passionate individuals that are very dedicated to their team, its success, and the community it serves. Some of these individuals work directly for the team as employees or in external business relationships, but many do not.
That’s where the team’s marketing partners come into play!
The way the NFL works is through private businesses paying to have their name and brand included on billboards, TV ads, online advertising, printed materials, and more throughout stadiums and surrounding areas during games.
These brands pay to be part of the experience, and the Rams make sure they get value out of every dollar spent.
Not only does each sponsor receive exposure during games, they also gain visibility at non-game events like charity functions or promotional activities.
Overall, this is an effective way to increase fan engagement with their product while promoting their company.
Rams players

The stadium in which the Los Angeles Rams currently play their home games is not very big- it has only about 22,000 seats!
The reason for this is that the venue was built in 1920s when football stadiums were much bigger. Since then, NFL teams have been moving into newer facilities with higher attendance numbers due to how popular the game of football has become.
Prior to the 1980’s, most professional sports franchises did not do well due to the fact that many people could not afford to watch them. But now that every team offers live streaming services, attending a game no longer limits your access to sports.
This increase in popularity has helped pro basketball and hockey teams build up large followings as well. However, it seems like the same can’t be said for gridiron football.
Football still remains the top sport at the collegiate level, but just because something is popular once doesn’t mean it will always be. An example of this would be the Olympics; while everyone knows what an olympic barbeque event looks like, few know what the modern day swim event is called.
After the conclusion of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea, there was talk of changing the swimming format so athletes don’t get too tired. This got rid of the wallball concept where contestants race against time instead of each other.
But this change was scrapped after little interest was shown.
