How To Audition For Nct Hollywood
As we already mentioned, there are over 100,000 members across all of the national teams of The Nerd Club! And with that many opportunities to connect with people, it is easy to get discouraged when you do not have anyone to go up against or be inspired by.
That’s why The Nerds created our “NCT Spotlight Series.” A series where one member gets to tell their story through writing and video about what it was like to join their team and how they made connections while doing so.
It’t just an opportunity for your personal growth, but also that of other members who may find inspiration from your team and organization.
And now, this article is for you! You can read yours here at The Nerdy Girl Online.
But first, let us talk more about Team America and why you should consider trying out as a part of theirs. 🙂??????
Why Should You Try Out For Team America?
You will definitely stand out among the crowd because there are very few teens (if any) who know what Team America is!
Most kids these days grow up watching Super Smash Bros., Mario games, or even Pokemon. But none of those games have Team USA as a character except for Pikachu.
Team USA has been around since 2008 when the game was released.
Dress the part

After you have determined what kind of job you want, then it is time to dress the part! If you are trying to break into acting, investing in some good clothes is your first step towards success.
It’s impossible to overstate how important wardrobe is when it comes to aspiring actors. Not only does clothing give you an aesthetic look that people can relate to, but also helps set the stage or takes away from the setting of a scene.
Your wardrobe should be matching (not random pieces) and lusciously expensive so that even though you may not earn much money as an actor, you still look like a pro!
Furthermore, technology now makes it easy to search for pictures of past events or gatherings of professionals to get inspired by their outfits. Many sites allow you to create a profile and add your own photos too!
Interpersonal relations are one of the most important skills in the field of psychology, and having nice shoes means someone will respect you more.
Prepare your phone battery

When you are preparing to audition online, make sure you have enough power left in your mobile device. Companies that ask for an extended amount of time to review an application or video can’t determine if you are lying because there isn’t enough strength coming from your phone.
They may also not be able to hear everything well due to voice quality issues.
Read the guidelines

As with any new activity, there are always rules and regulations before you can officially join a group or organization. For an auditioning group, they have very specific requirements for people to be accepted into their event.
NCT requires that anyone applying must live within 30 miles of either Los Angeles or New York City. This is so that members do not have to travel outside of their own home area to meet for a meeting or event.
Furthermore, applicants must be at least 18 years old (and 19 in NYC) and cannot be pregnant nor nursing. If you already have kids, this rule does not apply to you!
You will also need to prove that you have at least one year’s experience as a dancer - whether it’s ballroom, hip hop, flamenco, etc. And if you don’t have any experience but want to try out, that’s okay too! It’s more about dancing than being a leader, so you wouldn’t hurt your chances by trying.
Your application should include a link to a video proof of you able to dance for at least two minutes and a photo showing you doing something related to Dance. You can use YouTube, Vimeo, or your own website and profile! Make sure to include your first name, last name, age, height, weight, and country/state where you’re located.
Meet with the team

Before you even approach an open call, you must make sure that your presence has been noticed! Make sure to check out their website and social media posts to see if there have been any announcements or events they’ve posted about.
If nothing seems to be happening though, it might be time to give up and move onto the next step!
Running into people in the workplace is always a good way to get some tips. If you are already working, then checking out what departments you work in is a great way to learn more about them and how to position yourself within the organization.
For The Emerging Voices (EVE) Team at NCT, we would love to meet you! We will be holding our first ever Open Call on May 11th, 2019 at 5:30 PM Pacific Time (8:00 PM Eastern Time). You can register here: https://appstitch.com/nct-opencall/.
Practice recording and editing

A very common mistake is not knowing how to edit your recordings! The most important thing about auditioning is being able to articulate what you want and being clear with your answers.
If you are having trouble saying something clearly, then practice recording yourself say- ing it a few times until you can sound more natural.
Similarly, if your voice sounds different when you talk than when you sing, invest in a quality microphone and headphone system so that you do not have to worry about this!
Your tone, volume, and overall appearance matter too! When auditioning, make sure yours are appropriate for the setting and match the other members’s.
And lastly, try investing in some good headphones so you do not have to listen through the earpieces of others.
We hope these tips help you prepare and be confident during your next audition! If you need extra help, don't hesitate to check out our YouTube channel or website where you will find helpful content and resources.
Make a website

After you have determined that your style is in the music or performance space, then it’s time to start preparing yourself to audition! You will need to make an online presence to show people what kind of artist you want to be.
This can be done through creating a YouTube channel, writing some song lyrics down, recording a voice-over, making a band page on sites like Bandcamp, etc. There are many ways to develop your artistic talent, so don’t feel limited when brainstorming ideas!
On top of all this, most organizations require you to fill out an application form (sometimes called a “statement of purpose”) and include proof of your artistic skills as well as your leadership potential. These forms ask about your career goals and dreams, as well as if you've had any disciplinary action taken against you.
Connect with the agency

The next step in how to audition for NCT is by connecting with the organization that represents your city! You can do this through their website, social media platforms, or phone calls/meetings.
Making an appointment at an open meeting allows you to meet some of the members face-to-face and get a sense if they’re someone you connect with.
By attending a rehearsal or performance, you can determine whether there are any openings or not and what kind of roles they need help filling.
At the very least, you’ll gain more information about the position and who would be a good fit as a member. For example, did you know that one of the things that sets NCT apart from other groups is its diversity?
NCT has members representing different nationalities, cultures, religions, and backgrounds - something that many other groups don’t have! If you’d like to learn more about what makes them unique, look into it.
Start preparing your audition videos

After you have determined how you want to be involved in the music industry, it is time to start thinking about what kind of career will fit you best. While being part of the national team is not necessary to succeed, it can help you in many ways!
Most importantly, it gives you an opportunity to showcase your talent and learn more advanced skills like producing, song writing, or recording.
It also provides you with professional opportunities such as going to record studios to write and produce songs, meeting with members to get their input, and attending musical events to network.
By investing into the system early, you are giving yourself a leg up on other hopefuls who may need extra training or preparation time.
