How To Block Entertainment Videos On Youtube
With the explosion of digital media, it is easy to get distracted by all that you have access to. You can browse the internet at lightning speed via your phone or computer, stream content from virtually anywhere, and upload an endless amount of videos onto YouTube and other platforms.
That’s not a bad thing! In fact, having more options is great for people who are very busy and don’t have time to sit down and watch TV, or even if you just like watching things online.
But there is a downside to this ease of accessibility. For some individuals, all this new material can be too much. It may influence their future self-image or even incite feelings of anxiety or stress. This is particularly true for teenagers, who may find themselves overwhelmed with how many different types of entertainment they need to see in order to feel successful.
In these times where technology is constantly advancing, it is easy to get distracted. Technology offers us so many possibilities, but also exposes us to potential problems. What we should focus on as adults is choosing which opportunities will help us grow and develop as human beings, not whether or not The Bachelor is better than Survivor.
Look for the YouTube icon in the app bar
The easy way to block videos is by looking under the Settings tab in the main screen of your device. You can access this from any platform or browser that you use, such as Android, iOS, Windows, and Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
On most devices, the Settings are found via the drop down menu in the left hand corner (called the App Bar). Then, look for an option called General. Within there, you will find something called Privacy which includes settings for content blockers.

To begin, make sure you have done some things to clean up your youtube channel by clicking here. This includes editing your profile, deleting accounts, and removing copyrighted songs or movies off of it.
After you have done those three things, it is time to start blocking users and media! To do so, click on the “Settings” link located in the drop down menu next to the profile picture. Then, scroll down and you will find the option to add new blocks.
If you want to prevent someone else from uploading something, such as a video or an individual user, choose “Block uploads for this user.” if you don’t want them to be able to view or comment on any videos they were tagged in or featured, choose “BlocK comments for this user.”
If you want to completely remove someone’s access to both upload and comment, choose “Remove upload privileges for thisuser.
Look for a video that you want to block
The first step in blocking any type of content online is looking for it. You will need to be able to recognize it before you can do anything about it.
In this case, we are talking about entertainment videos such as music or movie clips that seem out of place or overly dramatic.
Something like “OMG my friend just posted a review of this restaurant!” might get your attention, but it is definitely not something most people would find interesting. If you see a lot of these types of posts, it may signal a problem with your account.
You should look into what is causing all the excitement and how to fix that. Blocking the video at this stage could prevent things from getting worse if you choose to continue using the site.
But remember, there may still be ways to appeal the video and/or comment on it.
Press and hold the video
There is an easy way to block all of these unwanted videos by pressing and holding onto the video you want to remove. This works for both desktop computers as well as mobile phones. For example, if you wanted to block a movie that has already been uploaded to YouTube, just press and hold the play button and then click “block”.
This will work similarly if you are trying to remove an embedded playlist or channel that contains your favorite movies, TV shows, or even songs. It will also work if you want to prevent someone else from viewing the video because they have accidentally clicked into it.
The important thing to remember about this method is that you must first press and hold the video before clicking block.

Even though you can’t actually view the content, the second part of the process is still important in blocking videos that are harmful or contain inappropriate material. You have to click “block” under the Settings icon to do this!
After that, you'll be taken back to your YouTube homepage where you can now access all of the features and apps you've previously had. Now however, you won't be able to access any of those tools because they're blocked!
You may also get an error message stating that the site made too many requests or there was something wrong with one of the pages you were viewing when you attempted to access it.
To block the video, click on the bar
At the top of your screen you will see a button that says “More” with different features listed under it. Click this button to access all of the settings for YouTube.
Under the Settings tab, you can choose to block or allow content from specific websites. You can also enable or disable comments on videos, manage privacy settings, and more!
You can easily re-enable any blocked sites by clicking ‘unblock’ next to the site in question. Once you have made changes to your account, you will need to confirm that you want to stick with them before they take effect.

If you try to view the content described in this article, then you will run into some issues. You will not be able to because it has been disabled!
Youtube now offers users the chance to add restricted categories or blocks to certain videos. By adding these restrictions, you can prevent specific types of videos from being played for an amount of time.
This is very helpful if you are trying to teach your child about social media ethics or want to block violent movies and games. It is also great if you do not like any of the videos in a contest and need to get rid of them!
You can find the option to create a block by going to Settings > Blocked Channels. Then, look under Content Categories to find the one you want to put on the video.
“Content category blocks work by limiting which other YouTube channels you can watch,” says Aliza Kaplan, Senior Editor at LifeWithKids.com. “For example, there may be a channel that covers yoga lessons - so instead of watching that channel, you would be redirected to another one with similar lessons.”
The reason this is done is to give people more choice; only having one option can make it hard to choose.
To unblock the video, click on the bar again
Now that you have learned how to block videos using browser extensions, let us go over some quick tips for removing them!
If you are still struggling to remove specific videos or brands, do not worry! There is an easy way to get rid of it!
Go into your youtube account settings and then hit “privacy”. You will see there a section called “content removal”. Here, you can report any content or brand you find offensive or misleading.
Once done, they will then review all information before canceling the license.
