How To Create Animated Films On Your Own
There are many ways to add some fun, animated touches to your YouTube videos. You can do something simple like waving or jumping off the screen or more elaborate things such as dance moves! It is very easy to create beautiful animations in almost any software program.
There are several free softwares you can use to animate your video clips. Some of the most popular ones include Adobe After Effect, Giphy Movie Maker, Filmbash, and PowerPoint. These programs all have their own way of animating and setting timing for the clip so it will feel natural when you edit them.
Adobe After Effects is probably one of the best overall quality animation softwares. Not only does it offer lots of features, but it is affordable as well. If you are ever looking to launch into creating your own videos, this one is totally beginner friendly.
I created my own cartoon

Before I started animating, I made an animated series called ‘I Am Not Famous’. It was about me trying to get famous but failing miserably every time! My audience loved it though as they always laughed at my embarrassing attempts.
After filming all of those clips, I put them together into one big movie which I titled 'I Am An Animation Artist'. I released that video online for feedback and it got enough positive reactions that I decided to give up animation totally and focus on producing comedy videos instead!
Now I make funny YouTube videos full-time and I love it! If you want to try out your hand at creating cartoons or just enjoy watching fun ones, then check out some of my work. You can find me on Instagram (my username is artmarcmurray) and Twitter (@animationartist).
I made a video of me animating

Many people make funny, fun videos by recording themselves or incorporating into their daily lives. Others create more educational, inspiring content with a topic they are passionate about. It is not only important to laugh, but also to learn something new!
Many people take inspiration from these creative individuals to develop their creativity. By looking at how they put together their pieces, you will too!
There are many ways to animate. You do not need any special software to start creating your own animations.
I showed my friends

My friend introduced me to this trick years ago. He said it was his favorite way to show off his artistic skills, or as he calls them, animating. You know when people do those flashy dance moves? Or when animals do funny things? That is totally animation!
He says that you should be able to recognize yourself in most any kind of moving or animated GIFs. Because we all have done something cool or funny before.
You can make your own by taking pictures or videos of you doing things and then editing them down so only parts of the picture or video move. Then, you can add music and effects to make it feel more polished.
I learned how to animate myself last year and now I’m sharing my secrets with you! It’s easy and fun to try out.
I shared the video on social media

On March 20, my friend posted an animated GIF of a dog jumping off a boat onto water. It was cute, funny and inspiring at the same time. The tweet got over 1,000 likes in less than 24 hours and almost 2,000 shares.
The picture inspired many people to try something similar or even go ahead and do it themselves. Many sharing their own experiences with the photograph said it made them feel happier or motivated to begin doing things they had been putting off for fear of drowning.
Some mentioned that the photo reminded them of another famous jump shot that has gone viral before - the one of the puppy who jumps into the ocean after its mother’s death.
I found the photos particularly touching because not only does the puppy enjoy swimming now, but it also proves that even if someone you love is no longer there, life goes on and you will find other people to connect with. Your loved one would want you to keep living your life and enjoying yourself, even when they are not.
I got praised for my skill

A lot of people have noticed me as an animator, but more importantly they comment on how proud they are to see someone who makes their own animations come from within themselves. They say that instead of looking at a screen full time, you draw or make your own animation and then show it off, which is much better than just buying one already made!
I really appreciate this praise because it reminds me that everyone has skills in something- even if it’s making ugly faces for half an hour!
The thing about putting yourself into action is that sometimes there’s a setback before you succeed. You might not feel confident in your drawing abilities so you don’t practice them, or you can’t seem to find a way to bring your ideas onto the computer so you give up.
But none of these things matter unless you push through and try again, eventually succeeding! It takes a while, but once you do it, you will feel happier and more accomplished than ever.
I wanted to become a professional animator
So, back in May of 2016 when I first started thinking about becoming an animator, I made a decision. If I was really going to make this my career, then I would have to learn how to animate.
I remember it being one of those things that seem kind of silly at first but once you do it, you can’t help but feel good about yourself.
It’s not like I planned to start making videos but soon enough I found myself sitting down and learning the basics.
A few months later, I uploaded my first animation onto YouTube. It was only two seconds long but ever since then, it has been growing.
My channel now has over 30K subscribers and every week, I upload around ten new animations. Some are just quick reactions or stories but others take longer to create.
Since launching my channel, people have asked me what my favorite style is and why I choose to use certain tools for different projects. These conversations always inspire me to keep experimenting and looking into new techniques.
I joined a studio

My career as an animator began at DreamWorks Studios, where I was hired as a junior character designer. It was definitely not easy! There were many times I would be asked to draw something that had very little reference or no guidelines.
I would have to research it online or find someone with similar skills to help me get the look I wanted. This process can take hours upon hours, so my then-manager gave me some tips: “Just keep practicing and drawing what you know - people will appreciate your effort!”
He is right! People do like seeing your work because it comes from within yourself and you put in time to hone your craft.
As long as you are learning new things and giving it your all, your colleagues and superiors will admire you for it.
I made my own studio

Before becoming an animator, you have to start with creating your own studio. This is very important as it sets you up for success later in life. You will need a place to store all of your materials, space to create, and a source of income to pay the bills.
It’s great to be able to draw, design or write well, but none of this matters if you don’t have what it takes to market your work. You will need to spend time developing your business skills which includes things such as marketing, finance, writing, sales and communication.
