How To Get From Hollywood Studios To Magic Kingdom
The next step in traveling with Disney is figuring out how to get from one location to another. This article will talk you through some easy ways to do this!
If you are visiting Walt Disney World during spring or summer, then there is an excellent chance that your family members will not have cars. If they don’t, it can be hard to run around after things like Universal for example, which is close by. Or if they DO have a car, running into and out of the park may be too time consuming as traffic moves slowly due to the limited amount of space.
So what happens when you need to go somewhere outside of the parks? You get shuttle buses! These shuttles take you anywhere in Orlando quickly and conveniently, and most people use them at least once a day while staying here.
The way these work is anyone can buy tickets before hand or even on board via mobile device. Some also offer early boarding so you can check out the area, meet other passengers, and make new friends!
This article will discuss some tips and tricks for using public transportation efficiently at Walt Disney World.
Take a taxi

For those that do not have a car, taking a taxi is your best option. Taxis are typically more expensive than buses or trains, but they’re much more convenient as you don’t need to find an exact location for the bus route or determine if there will be traffic before getting in way too far!
Some cab companies offer early bird discounts and/or special deals, such as their “Dine-And-Dash” service where you can order food and drink and use them while traveling, which is great because you don’t want to run out of fuel just to get somewhere!
Another perk is the constant WiFi most taxis now have, making it easy to stay connected while exploring the area. Obviously, this depends on whether you wanted to connect with someone back home or explore something new though!
Running into any kind of problem away from home requires having access to resources, so staying prepared by bringing some form of payment (for example, cash) and having enough money for transportation is important.
Take Disney buses

One of the best ways to get around is by taking an Uber or Lyft, but some people prefer taking Disney transportation instead because they feel it’s more cost-effective and better for the environment.
There are two types of bus service at Walt Disney World Resort - Local Bus Service and Express Bus Service.
Local Bus Service doesn’t have a defined route like express busses do, so these busses typically run within walking distance from where you start your trip. They also take much longer than express busses, often running 10-20 minutes per stop!
That means if you want to make sure you don’t miss anything, you will need to be very early to catch one of those busses. Luckily, many guests choose this type of transport over fast rides since they just wait outside the park until their next destination!
If you decide to use local busses, then you should know that there is an app that allows you track them in real time. You can find out how to use the MyWaltDisneyTour App here.
Express Buses are great way to avoid having to spend money on parking and/or transporation while still getting good quality transit services. The express busses only go as far as the International Gateway (IG) which is about 5 miles away from Magic Kingdom Park.
Take a Disney boat

One of the best ways to get into the theme parks is via water transport. There are several types of boats that offer different levels of luxury and entertainment for riders.
The classic way to arrive at Walt Disney World is by taking one of the many tour buses that take you directly from the airport or cruise terminal to an entrance park. These usually have around eight-to-ten people max per row, making it very close quarters.
Some bus lines will drop off passengers right outside the gate, while others may pull onto a highway exit, requiring you to find another means of transportation to your destination. This can be quite time consuming if there’s no direct route!
A much better option is renting a personal boat through a company like Boatworks Orlando. They typically cost in the range of $20-$30 per person per day depending on how long you travel and how large of a group you have. The boats feature Wi-Fi so you don’t need to bring your phone, lots of space, and all you need to do is show up when you want to go inside the park.
There are some restrictions on which areas of the park you can access though, so make sure to check before heading out.
Take a Disney plane

Many people choose to take monorails, buses or trains to get from one area of Walt Disney World to another. While these are all great options, what if you don’t have a ride at either location?
Or what if you would rather spend money on tickets instead of on transportation?
If this is you, then there is an easy solution!
You can pick up some cheap flight coupons online or through apps like Chime for airfare.
Take a Star Tours ride

One of the best ways to get into Disney as a kid was taking one of their rides. The classic option is going on the Space Shuttle Launch Experience or Test Track, but there are so many other options!
If you’re already in Walt Disney World, take a trip on any of the five different versions of Indiana Jones Epic Journey - it’s a great way to enjoy some more thrilling entertainment at the theme parks!
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid - Spaceship Adventure Ride is another popular choice that doesn’t require special timing or experiences, making it accessible for anyone!
At Tokyo Disneyland, guests can experience something very unique with Soaring across Japan!, an indoor dark roller coaster which takes place inside the park’s tallest structure! Guests literally soar above the treetops while experiencing 4G forces and speeds up to 7 m (23 ft) per second!
These types of attractions aren’t just for kids anymore, they offer incredible value and totally immersive adventures.
Tell the taxi driver to take the most direct route

A very popular way to get between Disney parks is by taking a cab. However, there are some things that can be tricky if you aren’t familiar with them!
First of all, make sure that you tell the cabbie to take the “most direct” route. This will cost you slightly more money, but it will save time for your ride back home. Some drivers may try to use unofficial routes that go through less-popular areas or even outside cities, which can hurt their fare.
Also, remember that speed limits in Florida are extremely low! Only challenge this when passing cars during the winter months.
Plan your route before you go

While there are many ways to get between Disney parks, there is one way that we feel very comfortable recommending. This method will save you a lot of time and money in transportation costs!
The best way to get from one park to another is via The Magical Express (TMX). TMX takes care of all of the transportational logistics for you, including picking up guests at either destination and taking them back to their starting location.
A representative from Universal Orlando can also add some helpful tips by letting you know about some great vendors in the area. They may offer special pricing or coupons for the same quality of service as TMX but with more flexibility.
On top of that, they may be able to help coordinate transfers to other parts of the region or even within the Walt Disney World Resort! We have personally used this tip many times so we wanted to pass it along to you.
Stay the night in the Magic Kingdom

After spending all day at Disney, you can choose to stay right outside of World Center Station or the Transportation Terminal! There are plenty of hotels near both so it does not matter which one you pick.
There is an excellent chance that there will be par-ties going on after the park closes for the day. If dancing is your thing then check out some bars within walking distance of the hotel. Or if watching sports is more important than dancing, most hotels have a good channel of TV that people do not use.
You could also just relax and read or talk with other guests who may be staying somewhere close by. Most travelers keep contacts they meet during their travels so don’t feel shy about asking around.
