Taxi services like Uber and Lyft usually cost slightly less than normal taxies, however, these apps cannot always find a suitable match when searching for drop off points.
Rent a car
There are several ways to get to Disney Springs from Hollywood Studio’s, depending on your schedule. Some people prefer taking public transportation as they have more flexibility in terms of time, but most find it tedious since you will need to connect somewhere else.
Alternatively, some opt to take a taxi because they don’t want to deal with traffic or finding an appropriate route for their walk-around budget. Both options can be expensive unless you are well connected.
If you are lucky enough to live close by or have a way to get home when you are done spending money at Walt Disney World, then opting to use ride sharing apps like Uber is one of the best alternatives. By using these apps, you create your own account that connects you to drivers who service area routes. You pay per mile so even if you aren’t going very far, it’s still within reason.
For those times when you just don’t feel like getting in a vehicle, there are always foot trips! Most hotels offer free shuttle services during off hours, which makes walking around Disney Springs easy and cost effective.
Take a Disney bus
For those who are looking to make the most of their vacation, taking one of the many buses that connect different areas at Walt Disney World is your best bet. These large vehicles typically hold around 20-25 people and take about an hour to get you anywhere in the theme park!
Many routes have signs indicating which stops will be made along the way, so it is always sure to keep up with what the tour operator is offering. Some even let you purchase tickets online or through the app!
These tours usually cover all parts of the parks, giving you a good look at everything. Many offer special experiences during the ride as well, such as snacks or drinks. Since these rides can last several hours, comfortable seats are very important!
There are also many times when the driver makes food or drink stopovers where they pick something random for everyone to enjoy.
Take a Disney bus
For those traveling from the World’s Most Famous Tunnel to Downtown Orlando, there are two main ways to do it. The first is taking an Uber or Lyft directly from the Universal gate entrance or exiting the tram at City Gate and catching the Route 70 Express Bus that goes down International Drive and then onto Central Florida Parkway where you will be dropped off in front of Disney Springs.
The second way is by taking the Walt Disney Co. Hop On/Hop Off Tour Bus which gives you access to both Epcot as well as Disney Springs! Both cost the same price - $25 per person for one day use (two-day pass available). You can purchase these online or at the respective parks.
Take the Disney monorail
One of the best ways to get around Florida is by taking the monorail, which connects all major theme parks and tourist destinations in the state! The monorail runs along pre-existing train tracks that it shares with regular railroads, so there are no special permits or approvals needed for rides.
The monorail at Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most well-known features of the property, but it’s not your only option. There are currently three different routes you can choose from when traveling between Epcot and Downtown Disney, Magic Kingdom, and Universal Orlando. (More information about these here.)
All three routes start in Hollywood Studios where guests can board the monorail just like they would at Walt Disney World. After leaving HS, however, the routes take very different paths!
In fact, some travelers never even enter Downtown Disney because none of the lines encounter each other there. This can make gathering supplies difficult as stores and restaurants close at night, and people usually don’t travel outside their hotel after dark unless there’s an event or parade happening.

Take a drive
If you are traveling from one park to another, or if you just want to do something fun, then taking public transportation is not your best option. Luckily, there are many ways to get around Orlando easily.
You can take an Uber ride share service like Lyft or UberX. Both of these have different rates depending on how far you travel, so make sure to check out both and find what works for you!
There are also some really good bus lines in the area that connect all major attractions and places such as Universal, I-Drive, downtown Orlando, etc. Check out Sunbus, OCTA (Orange County Transportation Authority), Local Bus, or Metrorail to see which ones are the most accessible to you at this link.
Lastly, walking is always an excellent choice when traveling anywhere! The weather may be warm during spring and summer, but it’s still very healthy activity. You will spend time getting outside and exploring the city more than sitting inside waiting for transport.
Take a boat
If you are looking for an efficient way to get to Disney Springs, then taking a boat is by far your best bet. There are many ways to do this, but most require you to pick up or drop off at either Universal Orlando or SeaWorld first before getting to Disney Springs.
The easiest way to do it is via The TouringPlate! You can take their bus service directly from both Universal Orlando and SeaWorld down International Drive in Miami, where you will be picked up and dropped off at World Center station of Disney Springs.
This is not only more cost effective than other boats that offer transport services, but also much faster since there’s no traffic involved. Speaking of which…
Another option is the Uber Boat Shuttle. This one costs a bit more, but they typically have very spacious seating and good music selections. What sets them apart is how personalized the experience is as well.
Take a walk
While it may be tempting to take the monorail or boat directly from one park to the other, doing so is not the best way to get around!
If you are very familiar with The Walt Disney World Resort, then taking the Monorail or Boat is probably your favorite transportation choice. But if you aren’t quite as well-acquainted, going by car or foot can actually be the better option.
There are many reasons why this is true. For starters, both buses and boats usually run once per hour at most during off season times (winter) and twice an hour during peak seasons. This isn’t much time for tourists who want more than just a short trip somewhere!
The monorail also costs money to ride - up to $30 per person per visit in expensive rides. That price doesn’t include any meal purchases either! If you really wanted to use that service frequently, investing in a pass would make sense.
For those who prefer their travels on foot, there are only about 10 different locations within the resort where you must go to access another part of the property. There are no longer any need to take transport to reach what used to be called “the back gate.
