How To Hollywood Glam Curls
As we all know, natural hair is the in style way to go when it comes to hairstyles. It’s also very popular right now. People seem to love going au naturel with their hairs!
However, just because something is popular doesn’t mean that it isn’t tricky to do well. Hairstylists have lots of tricks up their sleeves for creating looks using only natural products.
One such trick is called glam curls. Technically, this can be done with either heavy gels or dry shampoo, but most people use both.
What are glam curls?
Glam curls are long curly locks that are glued together and then curled slightly. This look is typically completed with some small clips or pins here and there to keep them from breaking away completely.
There you have it! Glama curlies are definitely not difficult to create if you are looking to give yourself a little extra credit as a hairdresser.
Use the right products

As seen in the first two pictures, golden curls are made of many different components- from how light touches are done to what kind of products are used. Starting with lighter hair treatments is using a heat protectant or pomade which is just olive oil mixed together.
Next comes use of clays such as Bumble and berry cream curling gels which are typically three parts gel to one part water. These can be applied directly onto wet hair and allowed to dry for soft waves.
Thirdly, use of flat irons that have variable temperature settings and fast heat up times so that you can achieve various shaped curls. The shape of the curl is determined by your hairstyle at this stage!
Last but not least, use of rollers or pin rolls to hold the curls! This way, you do not need to use glue or tape to keep them in place.
Use heat protectant

One of the most common ways to achieve beautiful, long curls is by using rollers! There are many brands that offer different sized rollers for different hairstyles and looks.
Curling irons have become very popular again in the beauty industry. Many people use them to create soft, flowing locks or even tight, curly crinkled hair.
But before using a curler, you must make sure your hair is completely dry! If it is still wet, the curl will not hold and could be ruined.
Many people begin with gel or spray-dried haired individuals, but unfortunately, those products can cause poofy, limp hairs later. Make sure to wash your hair thoroughly to ensure it does not get dried out.
After drying your hair, apply some leave in conditioner (or rinse product) and then braid or lock into rolls. As you pull up the roller, spread apart the curled sections slightly and then secure with a clamp or glue stick.
Use a heat tool

Having beautiful curls is like having a new hairstyle - you need to learn how to do it! There are many ways to achieve beautifully curly hair, but most start with using a tool or equipment to dry your hair. These tools include flat-top gents, curling irons, rollers, and use of a hairdryer!
A lot of people begin by using a curling iron, which can be done either directly from wet locks or through rolling the ends first. Either way works! When using a curling iron, make sure to pull out all of the hairs that could potentially get tangled during curl setting.
Use a deep conditioning treatment

One of the biggest things that can hurt your curls is using the wrong shampoo or chemical treatments for your hair. Many people use products with alcohol as the main ingredient, which does work to detangle the hairs, but it also damages the structure of the curl.
Alcohol washes away some of the strength in each individual hair strand making your curls look flatter and lighter. This is not a good thing! Luckily, there are better ways to achieve beautiful glistening curls without having to worry about too much damage.
A great way to do this is by using a deep conditioning treatment as your pre-wash shower solution. A well known brand of these is Bumble And Briar. They have lots of different types of treatments you can choose from depending on what stage your hair is at.
Use a de-pomatizing spray

The first step in having beautiful curls is knowing how to manage your hair. One of the most important things is using a good hairspray or gel that does not use alcohol as an active ingredient.
Most people start with product marketing hype about how this will keep your curls tight, but what it actually does is dry out your curl patterns.
This can be seen when you take off your look and your curls have “tacked” onto each other because of the lost moisture. Sometimes people also say their curls go soft if you remove the sprays too soon!
The best hairsprays are ones that contain no alcohol, so do not include any in yours.
Get a good seal of gloss
One of the biggest mistakes people make when doing curls is getting a very thin, barely there coat of hairspray. This may work at first, but as your hair dries it will go crazy! If you want perfect curls, then you must use enough hairspray to get a solid hold, but no more than necessary.
Too much hairspray can cause our curls to fall down or be flaky and soft. No one wants that! When using a comb to pull out your curl, it should stick well and not look like it would break away easily. If it does not stay put, then the amount of hairspray was too strong!
Another way to ensure great glam curlies is by using different types of hairsprays. A classic roll-up set with clear hairspray works well if you are just starting to do curls. As you become more experienced, try experimenting with other spray styles or product groups.
Use a cream or oil

For curly haired beauties, an easy way to get that glamorous look is by using a cream or oil with your curling iron. Most people use coconut or olive oils for this because they are both rich in minerals such as zinc and magnesium which promote soft curls.
You can also add some honey to give it more stickiness so that the curl stays longer! Only add enough honey to be able to spread the mixture easily though, you don’t want it to run away while the iron is heating up.
And remember, stay still! As tempting as it may be to twirl around the bathtub trying to see how many times your hair will roll under the barrel of the curling iron, you want to hold it firmly until the iron is cool.
Apply curls gently

The first way to do curly hair is by using a comb with rounded, curved teeth that are slightly wider towards the roots of the curl. This creates soft, fluffy waves!
When curling your hair, be gentle. Pulling too hard can cause breakage or flat, tight curls. Using a brush instead of a comb will also help take some of the stress off the hairs growth state.
Using warm water helps create more structured curls as opposed to wet, fluffly ones. Cold water makes tighter, sharper curls but not very pretty ones.
