How To: Hollywood Hair
As we all know, hairstyles are an important part of any person’s look. They not only affect how someone looks, but also what people think about you as well. For example, if you put your hair in a very tight bun, most people will assume you are serious or professional.
If you run your fingers through your hair, others may assumption that you don’t care much for it or that you can’t take good care of it. If you pull out some strands, they may wonder whether you like your own hair or not!
Whether you are just trying to find the best way to do your hair or you are totally clueless, there is a right way to do almost anything with hairdo! In this article, we will go over several easy ways to learn how to do bobs, braids, and other simple hairstyles.
Use a good heat protector

As we mentioned before, most people begin to lose hair as they age. This is due to two things: thinning of the scalp, and hairs that are thinner and shorter. Luckily, there are some ways to prevent this from happening!
One of the most important parts of protecting your hair is using a good heat protectant. A lot of people start using them in their twenties, but never really find one that works for them until much later in life.
There are many brands of heat protectants, but unfortunately not all of them work the same. It is very difficult to tell which ones are actually helping your hair grow because so many different types exist.
Luckily, there are some studies done with a few specific products, and they seem to do a great job at protecting your hair.
Use a good sealant

One of the most important things to do when washing your hair is use a quality sealer. A great sealer will last for many washes, which is why it’s so crucial!
Many people choose pomade as their sealant due to its durability. Pomade can be solid or gel-like depending on how much product you put in it. It hardens over time, making it durable and lasting the length of time needed to get rid of dry, dirty hairs.
A small amount of pomade goes a long way, which makes it cost effective too! If you are trying to save some money but want professional looking locks, then try using pomade as your final sealant. But make sure to test it on one area first to see if it works for you before investing more money in it.
There are also mousse-based seals that work just as well although they may not hold up as well as pomade. Mousse tends to wear off faster than glue products like pomade or gel.
Use a good conditioning product

One of the biggest things that can ruin your hair is not having enough conditioner! When shampooing, make sure to lather up but do not overdo it.
Conditioning is an integral part of keeping your hair healthy and beautiful. When washing your hair, use a small amount of shampoo and try to let it sit for as long as possible before rinsing it out. This helps lock in all of the products while also giving your scalp some time to breathe.
After drying your hair, apply a thin layer of conditioner and spread it using either fluff or fat brushes. Let it dry fully and then rinse it off. If you like, add some additional heat with a hairdryer to help strengthen those curls.
Many people begin to feel that their hairs are too soft and/or heavy after investing in a good quality conditioner. While this is totally okay, they may want more bounce and hold. A way to fix this is by finding one that contains micro-fiber or silk powder. These will give your locks the needed structure without being overly weighty.
Use chamois cream

For those who suffer from dry hair, there are many things you can do to restore your luscious locks. One of the most important factors in having healthy hair is finding the right amount of moisture for your scalp and hair.
Many people begin using products that contain oils at the start of a hair care rut, which can sometimes be hard to stop doing as they seem to work!
However, more frequent use of oils can cause your hair to become overly dependent upon them for moisture, making it even harder to achieve beautiful, soft hairs that hold shape. This is why it is very important to use a small amount of product every time you wash your hair.
Another way to ensure your hair gets the proper amount of moisture is by using a gel or foam instead of a liquid shampoo and conditioner. A good alternative is to use chamois cream, which works similarly to our own natural skin moisturizer. Just make sure to apply it with a clean, wet hand so it does not go bad and you have to throw it away!
Once used regularly, this will give your hair the needed boost of hydration without causing too much extra weight.
Use a wide-tooth comb

When using the hair brush, start at the front of your hair and work your way down towards the back. For every size area of hair, use a proportionate sized bristle brush.
Never pull too hard with the brush or twist the brush more than once per section of hair. Your scalp will get tugged along as well! The wider the tooth of the brush, the better it works to scrape through all layers of hair effectively.
A helpful trick is to apply some hold hairspray to help keep the brushes in place while you brush.
Use a brush

A very popular way to care for hair is using a brush. There are many different types of brushes that people uses for their hairstyling purposes.
Brushes come in various sizes and shapes, but all work in pretty much the same way. Brushes have hairs that are gathered together and then you apply products onto your hair as it passes through the collection area with each pass of the brush.
The size of the brush affects how much product can be absorbed by the scalp and skin. Larger brushers take longer to use since more surface area has to be penetrated with product.
There are two main reasons why people choose to use brushes instead of using their hands or a tool. First, it saves time! You won’t need to go through the process of applying products with both hands or creating your own blend of products with a knife or spoon.
Second, it creates more careful layers which some people prefer. Having the ability to spread out the texture and structure of the hair is important because they want to repeat the style or create something new.
But before choosing a brush, think about what kind of look you want to achieve and what products contain you plan to use. For example, if you wanted to add some body to your hair, you would not use a flat-top brush like we mentioned earlier.
Know how to dry shampoo

Many professional hairstylists use dry shampoos in their daily work. A few brands have even launched products that claim to do the same thing as using actual hairsprays!
A dry shampoo is not like your average roll-on deodorant, however. It’s typically cost around $15-$20 and will last you only a couple of uses. What makes it different than just buying another product with hairspray in it is that it doesn’t require direct contact with hair.
Instead, this powdery substance absorbs excess oils and drops of water from the face, helping to keep your look soft and smooth. In fact, some people even say that they help reduce weight due to the absorbed oil.
There are several types of dry shampoos out there for every person’s needs. Some are designed to be mixed with water or used directly while others need to be rubbed into the skin surface under moderate pressure.
Know what products to use

Color is a very popular way to liven up your hair, but choosing the right hue is important! Luckily, there are some easy ways to determine if a color looks good on you or not!
First, consider how much exposure your hair gets to light. If it is mostly protected from the sun, natural shades look best. For example, a ton of loose curls like Ash’s own will really showcase her natural brown colors.
Also make sure that the product contains little to no chemicals. Many brands contain alcohol or ammonia as active ingredients which can cause skin and scalp reactions. Make sure to research your shampoo and conditioner before buying them.
And lastly, try one color at a time! Changing two things at once may confuse the hair slightly, causing it to react in unexpected ways.
