How To Write A Script Properly
Writing a script is very different from writing a narrative or article. It’s not like writing a conversation, where you can easily create a linear flow of events. A screenplay is more like a piece of music; there are scenes that tell part of the story, but it doesn’t work unless they fit together harmoniously in order to form one continuous melody.
When someone reads your script, they will have to understand what happens next before they can move onto the next scene. This is called suspense, and it’s what makes a good movie so engaging.
In this lesson, we’re going to talk about how to write a screenplay according to the three basic rules of storytelling. Then, we’ll apply those rules to teach you how to organize and structure your ideas into interesting scenes.
Take breaks

After writing for a few minutes, take a break! This can be done through walking around or doing something else you have been wanting to do for a while.
The most important thing is to simply turn off of your computer and work space and do something different. You could go out for a walk or make lunch for someone else. Whatever you choose should be completely unrelated to what you were just working on.
This helps your brain to relax and re-focus. It also gives you time to breathe properly and reset from before you started. Yours body gets use during this break as well, so it keeps you feeling healthy and awake.
And don’t forget about yourself! Make sure to set aside some time every day for things such as taking a bath or grooming yourself. We often times get into the habit of rushing through our daily tasks in order to keep up with everything we have going on, but that only ends up hurting us more than helping.
Running down after a hard week means we are too run down for the next couple days at least, if not longer.
Always have a backup plan

Sometimes, even though you’ve written your best script, there are still things that can get in your way of it being published.
The most common reasons for this are limited resources or time to publish, or just not enough interest in publishing the work.
If you write a screenplay, then pitching it is sometimes the hardest part! But if you don’t, then what? You could keep writing more scripts, but eventually people will run out of inspiration to read them.
So, how do you get past this? Well, your second option is to start writing novels.
There are many ways to go about doing this. Some people begin by writing short stories, which lead into longer pieces. Others pick a genre they love and develop a story within that framework.
Never get writing until the final draft is perfect

Even after you’ve written your script many times, you have to never actually start typing it out! You must re-write and edit your scripts until they are flawless. This is because there will be someone else who has to read them later and if there are any major errors or things that don’t make sense, they won’t want to invest their time in reading them.
Your success as a writer depends heavily upon the quality of your writing and how well others perceive it. By this I mean, when people read your work they could like it or dislike it but either way it will affect your career as a writer.
It’s important to pay attention to your craft so that you keep improving your writing and being successful.
QA the script

After writing your script, you must now quality check it! This means reading it out loud to make sure that it sounds natural and is clearly understood. If there are any major issues such as poor grammar or sentence structure, re-write and edit the script until it is perfect!
After writing your script, you must now quality check it! This means reading it out loud to make sure that it sounds natural and is clearly understood. If there are any major issues such as poor grammar or sentence structure, re-write and edit the script until it is perfect!
If you have someone who can read your scripts then this step is not needed but if you do not, you should look into getting some help in doing this. Having an editor review your work will also help ensure that everything fits together properly and nothing needs to be changed or re-written.
Get it reviewed by a friend
Writing a script is hard! If you are struggling to make your writing sound more natural, have someone read it. This can be a close friend or family member, but most people do not know how to write so they cannot help you in that way.
You could also ask around your workplace or community if anyone knows how to write a script. Most businesses have an office manager who does this all of the time, and he/she would probably be willing to review yours for you.
Use a voice recorder

Voice recording apps like Google Keep, IOS Reel, or any other app that allows you to record yourself talking is your most helpful tool for writing scripts.
These applications have a feature where you can edit your recordings after they are done, making it easy to cut out unnecessary parts or add additional content.
By using this method, you will also get a chance to re-record anything you may have missed before because you were running short on time.
Record your voice

When recording your own script, you want to make sure that your tone is clear and natural. If you are using software such as YouTube or Google Voice, there should be an option to record yourself directly into the program.
If not, then you can use a free online service like Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/). You can also take advantage of computer microphones and speakers to help fix some vocal problems.
Either way, try out different tones and see what sounds more authentic for your character!
General rules about timing and rhythm apply when recording your own speech. Make sure to speak slowly and clearly, and emphasize the right parts of the conversation.
And just because it’s you talking doesn’t mean your words aren’t interesting! Your listeners will probably be distracted by all the going-ons in the story, so include enough details to keep them engaged.
Use editing software

When writing a script, there are two main things you must have: word processing software and an editor that can help you organize your script.
You do not need both of these things at the same time, but it is best to own one of each.
Word processing software will help you type up your script, while an editor will aid you in organizing how you want to structure your script.
By having both of these, you will be able to write more efficiently. You can use the software to create new paragraphs or even change the tone of your script.
The organizer feature within the editor can be used to add additional levels to your script or as our term goes here - break down the script into scenes!
