Is Los Santos Identical To Los Angeles

As we have seen, GTA V is an open world game where you are free to roam around as you please. You do not need to use any specific routes or modes of transportation to get anywhere. You can drive yourself wherever you want, take your time exploring, and find new things for to do at every intersection.

This article will discuss whether or not Los Santos is identical to its real life counterpart, which was referred to as “Los Angeles” in the video games. If you think it is, then great! But if you don’t believe so, that is okay too.

This article won’t try to convince you one way or another, but rather just present some facts about how alike and different the two cities are. We will be comparing similarities, differences, and anything else related to the topic.

No, they are not identical

While there is some of course level duplication (the beach for instance), most people will find that what makes each city unique is an integral part of their personal life story.

The way you interact with others, your job, how you feel about yourself and your place in society, and your sense of hope for the future are all things that make each city special.

Los Santos has bigger roads and taller skyscrapers than LA but it’s also much quieter. It doesn’t have as many natural wonders or iconic landmarks like The Grand Canyon or Mount Rushmore.

And while San Francisco boasts tall bridges and beautiful coastlines, it can sometimes seem overly focused on bringing together disparate groups of people who aren’t necessarily friendly towards one another.

San Diego, Chicago, New York City - these cities don’t have a lot of well-known tourist attractions, but this isn’t due to a lack of beauty or interest.

They’re just towns trying to be known for being “us” rather than “ourselves.

They are similar

While both cities contain skyscrapers, there is no one building that dominates the skyline in either city. There are however, several major landmarks or buildings in each that stand out as more impressive than the others.

In San Andreas, the Chrysler Building stands tall among other recognizable buildings such as the Met Life Tower and the Trump International Hotel and Towers. These three tallest structures make up what people refer to as the “Triple Crown” of New York City. The same applies for Grand Theft Auto V; the Chrysler Building, the Met Life Tower, and the Trump International Hotel and Towers all sit together making them form a so-called Triplet.

These two iconic buildings show how important prestige is in the city. If you do not have it, then nothing else matters! And if you do, then you know yourself as someone who has their place in the society. You are known and your name is spoken about with respect.

This article will talk more in depth about the similarities between Los Santos and its own state California and Germany. Both states belong to the West Coast region and share some historical events. This includes the September 11th terrorist attacks which happened at the World Trade Center in Manhattan five years ago this month.

So why not compare the two? Many people already have, but most of those comparisons only go so far. Some say that they look like each other while others cannot agree.

They are different

While both cities feature open-world gameplay, there is one major difference: The setting.

Los Santos is set in the sunny state of California while Los Angeles can be viewed as an ever changing representation of the city you are reading about.

The story changes depending upon who is writing it and where they live within the area being described. This creates an interesting narrative platform that brings new depth to the game.

There’s also a lot more room for creativity when describing settings outside of specific neighborhoods or landmarks. You could write about the beach if you wanted to, or talk about the surrounding mountains and valleys.

This allows players to connect with the media more deeply than before. Before, only people living near the mentioned locations could really relate to what was going on in the games stories.

With interactive descriptions, anyone can feel like they have some control over how their experiences apply to them. It gives us all deeper connections to each other as human beings.

They are the same

The city you play as in Grand Theft Auto V is not an important factor of the game. This has been confirmed by several members of the development team, including Senior Producer Brian Johnson. What kind of name this game has already received proves that people seem to want to compare it to something beyond the setting.

But remember what we said earlier? These comparisons are only natural because both cities share some similarities. Both are big coastal metropolitan areas with expansive beaches and beautiful landscapes.

However, there are three very significant differences between these two cities. First, one is much bigger than the other! Second, one’s economy depends heavily on either finance or manufacturing while the other mostly relies on tourism. And lastly, one gets away with murder (or ganking) almost anywhere but the other requires police intervention before you even start shooting.

They aren’t the same

Technically, yes, they are both in the United States and have lots of cars in them so that makes them similar. But that doesn’t make one better than the other!

The thing about cities is, people think they’re like each other because there’s a McDonald’s or a Starbucks everywhere, but that isn’t always the case.

For example, just because New York has a lot of skyscrapers does not mean it’s a more prestigious place to live than Chicago where most buildings look identical.

It all depends on what you want out of your life and how much money you have. And frankly, some people seem to prefer living in bland areas with few attractions as opposed to being surrounded by beautiful things every day.

So while it’s true that both cities feature prominently in our culture (they play an important part in storytelling!), this alone doesn’t prove which one is superior to the other.

They aren’t comparable

“Los Santos” is not, in fact, an actual city. It is not situated somewhere within California or even South America.

They are very similar

While there is no exact definition of what makes an area look like it belongs in the same genre, many agree that cities with rich histories influenced by European cultures tend to have more defining characteristics.

The most prominent trait is usually referred to as the ‘façade’ or ‘varnish’ layer that covers up the inner workings of the city.

This covers things such as the skyscrapers in New York City, the beautifully decorated buildings in Paris, or even the Gothic churches in Italy.

By having this thick coating, people create an illusion of strength and stability, which helps bolster confidence in the city’s future.

São Paulo has this strong historical influence from Europe, making its façade particularly reminiscent of older European countries.

Another characteristic common throughout these cities is their use of space.

They make every inch count, giving them a feeling of balance and control over their surroundings. This was definitely seen when traversing through The City in GTA 5!

And lastly, they often feature beautiful scenery. Whether it be lush green vegetation, picturesque oceans, or majestic mountains, each one gives you a sense of tranquility. You can also find lots of natural resources at your disposal if you're looking to improve your home turf.

So really, why not call L.A.

They are almost identical

While there is no exact definition of what makes an area look like its archetype, you can be sure that if people seem to identify with it, adding in your own personal touches will make it feel more like the said archetype.

Just because something is similar to another thing doesn’t mean it looks good or bad, but sometimes we create illusions about things.

By incorporating references into our settings, stories, and games, we add influence to subconsciously associate the idea with better ones.
