U-haul Hollywood Boulevard
This week, The Broke And Budgeted Traveler is putting his or her money where their mouth is and heading down to Los Angeles with only one thing in mind- spending money!
The reason for this trip is to see what all of the fuss is about when it comes to celebrating America’s national pastime - baseball! Yes, that means you can check out both spring training as well as the regular season games at either Dodger Stadium or Angel Stadium.
But first, let’s take a look at some of the ways you can save money by traveling by train instead of plane.
This article will be way more practical than other articles I have read before like “20 Ways You Can Save On A Train Trip Or How To Take The Train Like A Pro.” It will go into much greater detail including how to find cheap rail tickets, tricks to survive your journey, and things to do while aboard the train.
Rodeo Drive

While there are many ways to get your car fixed, knowing which ones are done professionally is important to ensure that you don’t waste money!
Sadly, not all shops have formal training in automotive technology or mechanics, so be careful about who you trust to do work on your vehicle.
In fact, some people actually make fake claims about being trained in computerized engine diagnostics or hydraulic systems to scare away customers!
This is totally unethical and illegal if you look at it from an ethical standpoint as well as legal one!
So how can you tell if someone is truly qualified? Here are several things most professionals will have.
First, they should be able to describe their skillset properly and answer questions intelligently.
Second, they should display their certification levels where appropriate. A college degree isn’t always proof of expertise, but a certificate might be!
Third, they should keep up to date with current technologies by studying and attending workshops and seminars.
Fourth, they should actively contribute to professional online communities such as Facebook and YouTube.
Fifth, they should put themselves out there and promote their services, especially through social media sites.
Sixth, they should only accept work from sources that check off all the above points.
The Walk of Fame

Located just west of Hollywood Boulevard is The Walk of Fame, an outdoor memorial that honors some of the biggest names in entertainment with plaques or statues. It was designed by Tony DiGerolamo and dedicated in 2004.
The first group to be honored are the pioneers who made significant contributions in art, music, theater, and film. These include Walt Disney, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and many others.
Since its creation, The Walk of Fame has drawn criticism from both those who appreciate it and those who feel it lacks diversity. Some believe it only represents white male artists while other critics say there’s no need for such a monument because most people recognize famous people through social media and websites.
The Kodak Theater

Located in Hollywood, California, the Kodak Theatre is home to some of the biggest events in entertainment. It has also been known as the Dolby Theatre, the Ahmanson Theatre, and the State Farm Arena.
The venue opened its doors for the first time back in 1980 when it was called the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Since then, it’s hosted many big name performances including the Oscars, the Super Bowl, the MTV Video Music Awards, and the Academy Award Ceremony!
It takes quite a lot of work to prepare for these events. In fact, according to reports, the facility alone costs more than $100 million!
That includes construction, remodels, utilities put into place, and all the equipment needed to run the show.
But once everything is ready, the venue holds around 9,000 people. This means there are a lot of logistics that need to be coordinated.
For example, at the Oscars, there are over 100 different phone lines used by vendors and media. These include things like teleprompters and speaker phones.
These can cost up to 1,000 dollars each! So, how do you source these things? You pay someone to help you find them.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame

Many people enjoy visiting the famous landmarks in Los Angeles, such as the Statue of Liberty or Grand Canyon. But very few know that there is an organization dedicated to creating these iconic monuments! This organization is called the Global Cultural Treasure Council (GCTC) and they have a special designation for each city’s “Walk of Fame."
The GCTC gives out this prestigious recognition when a person or group has made significant contributions to culture through art, music, literature, or other creative pursuits. More than 2,500 individuals and organizations have been honored with this distinction by the GCTC, making it one of the most respected honors in cultural heritage.
Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) was established in 1929 as an art museum, but it did not gain its recognition as one of the world's top museums until later. MOMA has been featured on several listicles before due to its incredible collection and unique exhibits.
In fact, back when it first opened, MOMA only had around 1,000 pieces of artwork! Since then, it has constantly added new treasures that span across different mediums and time periods.
It is truly remarkable how much art MOMA now boasts, with over 30,000 pieces just within their permanent collection. Many of these pieces come from well known artists such as Pablo Picasso or Henri Matisse.
There are also many works by up and coming artists such as Takumi Nishikida or Anselm Kiefer who have done impressive work so far. All of this adds more diversity to the collection and showcases the depth of artistic talent we have today.
Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

Located in North America’s greatest movie theater district, Grauman’s Chinese Theater is home to some of the most recognizable logos in entertainment.
The first thing you will notice when visiting Grauman’s Chinese Theater is its iconic entrance with the towering archway and ornate decorations.
These features are inspired by Beijing’s Temple of Heaven which dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The temple was built to honor the God of Longevity who bestowed his blessings upon the ruling emperor.
In our case, it honors the legacy of actor Chin Baat Hee, also known as Madame Ching. She starred in over 100 films during her career that spanned three decades and received two Best Actress Academy Awards for her performance.
Chin lived an incredible life full of success but she never forgot where she came from. Even after receiving accolades and fame, she always made time to visit graveyards to pay homage to the departed souls.
That is why her tombstone has the word “Remember” engraved along the top and the year 1796 below it. It is very likely that she spent many nights thinking about this phrase and what it meant to her before choosing it as a memorial.
Another interesting fact is that her gravestone does not have any pictures or biographical information written on it. That is because her children and grandchildren took care of that for her.
Universal Studios
Located in Los Angeles, Universal Studios is a popular theme park that has many things to offer including rides, shows, and attractions. There are three main areas of the park you will usually visit first depending on your age. The Islands of Adventure area includes Jurassic Park, Transformers, Despicable Me, and Revenge of the Mummy among others. It also features Super Show! which is an interactive show with characters from various movies and TV programs. The New York Area is made up of Spiderman, Men In Black, Rocky, Shrek, and the like. Finally, the Backlot area contains Harry Potter, Fast & Furious, and Mission: Impossible as well as other movie themed experiences.
There are several ways to get around the park. Most people use public transport or their own vehicle but there are some great way to enjoy the park easily. The most common is riding on horseback through the back lot area of the park. You can choose to do this alone or with a group of people. Another option is taking the tram tour where you can hop off and explore parts of the park at your leisure.
Disney Studios

Located just west of Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World has several major theme parks for all ages! The Magic, as they call it, is in no way limited to children. There are many attractions that have stories or characters that appeal to adults, too!
At this writing, there are actually two separate lines at one ride! That’s right - you can go on Space Mountain twice (once with Junior Passes and once with Standard Tickets)!
There are also some great dining options around the area if you are looking to eat while exploring the park. We recommend trying something new every time you visit!
Disneyland and WDW both offer very good value packages that include hotel rooms, food, and entertainment. Check out our article here to learn more about the best ways to enjoy the Disneyland experience!
