Why Is LA Called Hollywood

Hollywood was named after a small area called, LA. LA was a small area in Pomona. Around the mid-1850s, a man named, Al Miller, lived on 1 ½ acres in the LA area and helped lead the efforts for development of the Pomona Valley, as well as for a railroad station.

Another reason why is called LA is because it was named after La Puente, the first town to be established by the railroad company.

Since the area was named after a town that has now long ago become a part of it, it is confusing to find the link between LA and Hollywood, so they got rid of the hyphen and they started calling it simply, LA.

This will also give the people of California a chance to decide where they want to be called, if they are old enough. For example, If you were born in Los Angeles and you still live there, it is difficult to tell people you’re not from LA, so the people from LA could continue to be called L.A.

An alternate is calling it what’s left of the Pomona Valley, which was the area that was left behind by the merger of the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles.

After the merger, the area that was left of Pomona became known as the city of La Puente, which is in the county of San Gabriel.

"So there is one name that is not being called Los Angeles," Myers said. "It is called LA LA. Anytime you hear LA LA, you’re referring to the LA LA."

Is the man behind LA known?

While very few people remember the man behind the name, there is proof. Records show that he named the area in the mid-1850s, but in the 1850s, when this man was just a boy, there was no mention of any such area called Los Angeles.

Instead, this area was called La Mancha, which was part of the Rancho San Antonio de Padua.

So according to the family that owned the Rancho San Antonio de Padua, which includes present day Los Angeles, there was a boy named Henry Clay, who lived near the area where the Puente Hills were located and he might have named the area La Mancha, a Spanish name for “good soil.” It was named after him.

History

People are always fascinated with history, and a lot of time people are surprised about some history, so it is obvious that a lot of us do not know about certain dates. LA was once a village called Kurniawung Meringok which means "mother of a flower."

There was a small river next to it that was nicknamed "the loveliest river in all the country" by the natives.

The people in the village planted a lot of various flowers such as the wild rice, and the people were gifted with the best grasses by the earth which made them rich and prosperous.

History tells us that there was once a French family who owned the land and decided to move from France to the more welcoming America. During that time, people still called them the French family because their last name is French.

Their last name was De Lafontaine which is French, but LA actually means la-fonna-tang.

When they moved to the big city of Hollywood, a very difficult period began for them. They still knew a lot of things about LA and its people, but they were often met with very negative news.

The company they inherited the land from tried to file a lawsuit against them to make them sell their land.

In 1957, the majority of LA was destroyed by a tornado. The land was now in ruins, the people were sad, and they felt alone because they did not have a lot of friends because they were not prepared for a great deal of destruction.

One day, they decided to make the company sell off the land so they could buy a lot with more land and the company agreed

The company's idea was that people from all over the country would want to go to LA to build houses to make more money and build a better society.

Everyone then went to the western part of the country to work and build their houses. The sky grew dark, and the residents of LA heard a loud noise. The loud noise was only getting louder and louder. They heard people were screaming for their lives and that their houses were getting destroyed.

As they continued to watch their houses get destroyed, one of the people started to lose control and lost his mind because he saw his house get destroyed. The other people continued to scream and cry as the person saw his house getting destroyed.

By the time the tornado hit, everyone was all over the place, but no one had died because of it. It was however very, very, close to killing everyone. People who were still alive ran to the center of the town and barricaded themselves in their houses.

The storm was an earthquake which was very strong because the ground was vibrating from the storm. The town was in an emergency situation because the storm was coming very fast, and it was not over yet.

People who were still alive were wondering if they should run and survive or go and live in another town, but they were saved by two family groups.

One family group got there first and saved the people, and then the other family group went and rescued them.

Since that storm, there has been very little if any natural disasters in LA

The family who saved them took their families and went to a nearby town called Santa Monica because the plane ride was the only way they could fly and save their families.

Soon after that storm, there was a large thunderstorm and a flash flood that followed. It was a huge flood and the ground was shaking.

It got so bad that people could not go anywhere. People who were not saved by the people from Santa Monica were crying for help and shouting that they were going to die.

After that, more people moved to Santa Monica because they had nowhere else to go. Today, the people of LA are alive and safe because of their family groups who saved them.

LA's soil has been created to be very fertile and suitable for growing crops, but the plants grow very slowly because of the cold and drought. LA's soil is mostly clay which is not very suitable for growing crops.

The soil in LA is often very dangerous because it is so dry and small. There is very little water in the soil and it is very hot.

The temperature is always over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. LA can't even grow a proper life size tomato.

There was very little soil in LA until the Water Reclamation Facility arrived. The Water Reclamation Facility came to a section of the desert that is now called Sukkah.

The plants began to grow and many people came to Sukkah to buy vegetables and water.
