X-files Animated Series
The “X-File” is an odd concept that has been around for quite some time in fiction. There are many examples of this in various genres, but they all share one thing in common; there is always a mystery surrounding what or who the x-file is.
The first example we can look at is from comic books. In comics, there is an element called the x-factor. This is when someone does something notable, but you cannot tell if they just happened to do it at that moment, or if they have done it before and people know about them. For instance, let’s say I walk up to you with a knife and threaten your life. My actions seem abnormal so most likely I would be caught doing such a thing, making me the villain. But what if I had no reason to hurt you? What if my reasons for wanting to kill you were good?
My motive could be because you broke into my house and stole my belongings, or perhaps I wanted to murder you because of your great job and impressive accomplishments. All of these things make me want to harm you, and yet I still wish only good things for you.
The X-Files: Fight the Future

With Chris Henchy (The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as head writer and showrunner, Fox’s new animated comedy series The X-Files is set to premiere in 2020. Based on creator Vince Gilligan’s acclaimed sci-fi/fantasy novels of the same name, it follows FBI agents John Doggett (Robert Patrick) and Robert McCord (Dylan Bruno), who are assigned to work alongside state agency “Undersiders” at the Department of Energy.
While investigating potential paranormal activity, the two teams unwittingly get involved with an international conspiracy that threatens our world - and not just through aliens either. Global warming, nanotechnology, and even time travel seem to be part of this threat!
Given how much sci-fi has shaped The X-Files over its nine seasons, it seems only fitting that we would now see it tackle some other futuristic concepts.
The X-Files: Cold Case

While there have been many attempts to bring back Chris Carter’s paranormal drama, none of them quite measure up to what happened before. When it was announced in 2013 that Fox would be creating an animated series inspired by season 10 of the TV show, fans were ecstatic!
The success of The X-Files has always gone beyond just the show though. It is the incredible legacy left behind by creator Chris Carter and the fandom surrounding his work.
What are some examples? Did you know that The Truth Is Out There was an allusion to the first episode of The X-Files? Or that almost every film in the franchise features at least one scene with the phrase “Don’t blink”?
And while most people may not know who Dana Scully (Melissa McBride) and Special Agent John Doggett (Agent David Duchovny) are now, they are definitely aware of their unforgettable personalities.
It is no surprise then why so many people wanted to see more stories from The X-Files through animation. With Cold Case being the next project in line for production, here are five reasons why it is totally worth your time.
The X-Files: Deep Throat
In the early seasons of The X-Files, there was an episode titled “The Truth”. This episode focused on government agents investigating alien encounters by looking into whether or not aliens exist. After this revelation is made, the show shifts to exploring how people develop attachments to other beings and why we sometimes have strong emotions towards them.
In this particular season finale, this theme is explored in relation to the conspiracy theory that Mulder and Agent Scully had been working for the Government their entire professional lives. They discovered that some powerful individuals within the FBI were secretly collaborating with extraterrestrials and wanted to keep it that way.
This story line received mixed reactions from different viewers. Some felt that the series creators were trying to make us feel good about the government by making it seem like they are doing what is best for the world. But others noticed something more sinister going on under the surface.
They believed that instead of helping people find answers, these higher ups were keeping the truth away so that they can continue collecting power.
The X-Files: The Substitute

After eight seasons, Chris Carter left as showrunner of Fox’s sci-fi hit series The X-Files. He was replaced by Glen Morgan (The Glorious Ones), who took over for his final season in May 2018. Since then, fans have been anxiously waiting for news about what will happen next.
But now we know! Back in February, it was announced that The CW would be creating an animated TV movie based on one of two episodes from Morgan’s run. One episode focused on aliens trying to create human slaves while another centered on humans looking to make the same connection with extraterrestrials.
Both stories featured characters from earlier seasons of The X-Files. This article's title is based on the first story’s opening line - which reads: “It begins with a boy.” You can find out more about this tale here.

The X-Files: The Truth

Fox has announced that it will be retelling of one of television’s most beloved franchises, The X-Files! This is very exciting news as there have been many different versions of this series produced over the years.
The show first premiered in 2001 with an initial run of nine seasons. A movie was also made in 2002 starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Since then, several other TV movies and stand alone episodes have been created for various storylines.
In November 2016, we got our biggest update to the franchise yet when it was revealed that Chris Carter would return as both writer and executive producer of a brand new season of The X-Files.
Since then, he has confirmed that the show will pick up directly where the last film left off and feature both Mulder and Scully returning for their own shows. They will reunite in America after spending all eight films in Europe.
Carter even went onto reveal some more details about what kind of stories they will tell and how long the new season will be.
The X-Files: The Summons

Fox has announced that it will be bringing back their hit sci-fi show, The X-Files! They have also revealed the title of the new season which is called The Summons. This is quite an interesting name as there are several theories about what this could mean for the series.
Some say that this is referring to when Mulder encounters his spirit in the first episode while he is sleeping. He feels like he is being summoned by something and he eventually finds out why years later when the two meet again. Others think that this refers to when Agent Scully receives her “summoning” at the end of Season 9.
However, both of these events occur well before the actual start of The X-File: The Search so some believe that this is just setting up a larger mystery or story arc for future seasons. No one knows for sure but we can assume that it has something to do with the mysterious government agency that The X-Files focused on in its earlier seasons.
The X-Files: The List

Over the past two years, there have been several rumors surrounding an upcoming animated series for Fox. These include reports of it being in development since at least April 2016 when Chris Carter announced that he was looking to return to television with “an all new scripted show”.
Since then, many more details about the show have surfaced including announcements from both Dana and Gillian Van Gosse as well as David Dennison who were involved in developing the pilot. They also revealed that it is titled The X-Files after one of the most famous episodes in TV history!
The opening sequence features what looks like a very long list of titles and bullets under the title of The List. Many theories speculate whether this is an actual episode or if it is just for fun but no one has actually confirmed which ones are true until the show airs.
Overall, these interviews along with the announcement of the show make it seem like it will be coming soon so stay tuned.
The X-Files: Heaven

In season 9, we were introduced to the town of Heaven which is located in Washington state that has an unexplained phenomenon occurring every few months where people are abducted outside of the area and they mysteriously reappear days later with no memory as to what happened or who took them away.
This episode focused on one such case and it was revealed that this individual’s name is Tad O'Connor and he works at the local diner there. It is then shown us how he spends his time before the abduction when he gets back home and what happens after.
These events occur during lunch hours so most of the workers in the show visit the diner during those times and therefore, only a small portion get involved. This makes it harder for witnesses to corroborate anything other than what time everyone left work and what they did afterwards.
However, one person who may be able to provide more information is Rebecca Jackson. You see, she too worked at the diner but she resigned due to personal reasons not long before the incident occurred. She now lives across the street from the diner and her house has the same view of the parking lot where the incident takes place.
