As discussed in my last blog post, your personal meaning of life is what you prioritize in your daily life, what you focus on and what you strive for. You may have heard stories about people before and after their “big break” or moment in life where everything changed.
That change often comes from outside factors such as experiences, events, or conversations that shift someone's perspective or belief system. It can also be internal, something they were thinking about or working on earlier that shifted their perception of time, life, and happiness.
In this article, I will talk more about how to use media to enhance your personal mission by exploring different characters, storylines, and themes within films to determine the core meanings of your life.
I'll also discuss some strategies for using media to help you achieve your personal goals and dreams, as well as ways to apply these concepts to improve your own life.
Definition of the word “mean”

The term mean has several definitions, but for this discussion the most important one is: something that is bad or evil. That seems clear enough, right?
But there are some tricky bits to understand about the definition of mean. First, note that you can be very close to someone and still be considered mean because it includes in its scope people who hurt others intentionally. For example, your coworker may really like you, but she might make fun of you in front of everyone else every chance she gets. She could even go so far as to praise you outside of work, but when she talks about you with other people, it’s all negatively.
Her negative behavior towards you is being included in the definition of mean. This person has made an effort to hurt you, and therefore they have fallen into the category of being mean.
This doesn’t necessarily describe everyone who uses words like ‘meannnn!’ or says things like, ‘You’re not smart like I am!,’ but it does include a lot of people. It’s probably true for at least half of the people in our world today.
Second, remember how we said people spend a significant amount of time thinking about themselves? According to research, people also tend to think more about what they don’t have rather than what they do.
Reasons you should consider your Hollywood meaning

Being an actor is a lot of things to a lot of people, but for most it’s simply a way to make money. For some, it’s their career and they’ve got to feel that what they do makes a difference or they wouldn’t keep doing it. Or maybe they just love being able to contribute something to society by educating, entertaining, or inspiring others.
Whatever your reason for choosing this life, there are several other reasons why you should consider changing your Hollywood status. Here we'll talk about them!
You already have. You've been living in a movie since birth. A good part of your childhood was spent watching characters around you act and behave like someone else so you decided to try it out.
As embarrassing as it may be, you've been pretending to be somebody else all along. The key word here being pretend; you haven't really been that person otherwise. You'd still know who you were underneath, but none of those layers seem to stick unless you're in one of these situations.
Examples of Hollywood meanings

What is the meaning of life? In The Matrix, Neo asks this question after he has awakened from his dream world with the help of Morpheus (the main character). He comes to realize that we all have our own personal stories that make up who we are and what matters in life is whether you are living your story or someone else’s.
The movie ends with Neo returning home to live an ordinary life but still feeling incomplete because he did not understand the truth about humanity. There was part of him that wanted to stay in the matrix longer so he could continue experiencing its illusions and dreams.
As humans, it is difficult for us to relate to each other due to our constant desire to be more like the person next to us or to prove that we are more intelligent than them. This can cause some to feel insecure around others which is why people with “special” abilities such as telekinesis probably suffer from higher levels of stress.
It is very easy to get distracted by material things and therefore spend most of your time trying to obtain more money or power rather than spending time with those close to you. We also tend to focus on having lots of stuff instead of being aware of how much love there is in your life.
Finding your Hollywood meaning
As we have seen, being able to identify your movie “meaning” is an important part of understanding who you are as a person and what your life purpose is. But there is one more step in this process!
Finding your Hollywood meaning goes beyond just identifying what genre films you like most and which actors you find attractive or unattractive. It includes exploring how their personal lives relate to your own, and whether these relationships inspire you to make changes in your own life or not.
It also means observing how successful they were in helping other people achieve their dreams and making sure that you push yourself to help others succeed. All of these things contribute to your Hollywood meaning.
Are you a Hollywood or a movie?

What is it that people really recognize you for beyond your job? For your personal style, what sets you apart from other people with similar looks?
It’s not what you wear - although that matters -- it’s how you dress. It’s your sense of fashion, if you have any at all. It’s your personality as it relates to clothes, whether you are fashionable or not.
It’s the way you present yourself to the world, both internally and externally. In other words, it’s about how you use clothing to show who you are and to convey messages.
And while this may sound vague and generic, there is a very specific way we can apply this to our lifestyle and career choices.
This particular lifestyle and career choice is defining someone’s character based on their appearance. A person could be considered “Hollywood” if they only care about appearances, but hardly anyone ever lived by that motto in real life.
So instead, we refer to these individuals as “movie people.” They like to put forth an image or persona of themselves, which is sometimes false or misleading.
Examples of movie meanings

What is the meaning of life? In The Grand Canyon, Frank (Tommy Lee Jones) asks this question to his son as they look out at the canyon together for the first time. He answers it by telling him that we live our lives trying to make a difference in this world.
He goes on to say that we should all be like you, he says, looking down with pride and wonder at what he has been given.
This reminds me of something I thought was important when I was your age. Now I think it’s even more important because I have a boy who looks up to me and wants to be just like me.
I hope you one day will ask yourself what you want from your life and if you are living your dreams, then you are alive. You are alive because you wanted to do something, something you gave your life to do.
You are alive because you had an intention to make a difference in this world. That makes you worthy of being called “lives.
Understanding the Hollywood meaning

What is the 'Hollywood' or ‘meaning’ of your life? Many people talk about their lives having a purpose, but they don't know what to do with that information.
Many people who speak about this have attached their own personal meanings to it, so you will never find someone else's definition of the word.
However, there are some theories about what the Hollywood meaning of life is. These theories vary in accuracy, but none of them can be verified through hard evidence either way.
Some say that your career (or rather, the person you become due to your job) is your main goal in life. This means thinking more about how you can fulfill your current position instead of looking forward to other things that may or may not happen.
They also suggest that living for yourself and your family is important, as well as helping others by being productive and self-focused.
These individuals believe that life is too short to worry about bigger goals like traveling the world or moving out of your house. They consider a simple live where you feel comfortable and enjoy the moment to be the most meaningful.
Another theory says that happiness is your biggest goal in life. To achieve this, look at the areas of your life that make you happy now and add something that does not hinder that happiness.
Learning Hollywood meanings

What is the meaning of the word ‘hollywood’?
We can learn some important definitions for this term by looking at its part, movie genre it appears in, and the context in which it is used.
By taking these three factors into consideration, we are able to determine the overall meaning of hollywood. The most common definition is:
"The name 'Hollywood' was first coined during the 1920s when film studios needed a place to store their growing piles of equipment."1
This definition suggests that the word has positive connotations, focusing more on the importance of the industry than anything else. It also implies that people involved in the media business enjoy an extended amount of praise and appreciation, making them feel good about themselves.
A less positive interpretation comes from the word "movie". As mentioned earlier, the word "hollywood" is usually paired with the word "movie", so depending on the context, one could conclude that the media production company or individual either enjoys lots of attention and admiration, or that they make very entertaining movies.
Both interpretations sound hollow, however. After all, what person would spend time watching films if they didn't expect any form of reward beyond feeling happy for a few minutes? And how could anyone not be fully devoted to making entertainment products if they weren't engaged in the process?
In fact, both words imply something closer to the opposite of what you think they mean.
