Madeline Zima, known for her work on Californication, and Westworld's Leonardo Nam have currently set the reels rolling in Canada on the production of a new thriller, "Love Is the Monster." Written by Alex Noyer, Hannu Aukia, and Blair Bathory, this film promises to bring a chilling narrative to the great white north. The Thriller is directed by none other than the seasoned filmmaker, Alex Noyer, whose reputation precedes him following his recent film, "Sound of Violence." With a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement in place, the project is pulling together a spectrum-spanning cast that includes Moe Jeudy-Lamour from Ted Lasso, Kimberly-Sue Murray, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Milla Puolakanaho, Tatu Sinisalo, and Sheila Mccarthy.

"Love Is the Monster" tells the story of a couple, Ana, portrayed by Zima, and Justin, played by Nam. After their relationship is challenged by infidelity, the couple decide to embark on a journey to healing by attending an exclusive couples retreat in Finland. Amidst the charm and allure of the nation's summer midnight sun, the couple encounters a series of transformative teachings led by a shaman and healer, Tiina. But, as every good thriller in the making demands, the revitalizing retreat idyll shifts to an unexpected path.

Noyer brings a twist of his native Finland's ancient mythology in creating this forthcoming feature, his second following "Sound of Violence". Alongside Noyer are co-producers Laurence Gendron and Aukia, with North American rights being handled by XYZ Films, set to launch the sales at TIFF.

Zima, whose repertoire includes popular series such as Doom Patrol, Hacks, In Treatment, and several indie features, and Nam, who has built a steady film profile through HBO's Westworld, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Marvel's Werewolf by Night, and more, are expected to bring notable performances.

Now, moving on from just the facts to the slightly more enticing part of the story, let's dig into this golden nugget of information. Noyer, leveraging his Finnish roots in spinning an intriguing narrative combined with actors like Zima and Nam is indeed a mouth-watering prospect for thrill-seekers. It's like serving a platter of smoked salmon with aged cheddar and a glass of Pinot Noir.

Not to mention, having it filmed under the Candanian landscape adds a dash of captivating pictorial beauty to the fantastical plot of the film. Remember how we all loved the moody, ever so slightly eerie cinematography of Canadian classics like Cronenberg's "The Fly"?

In the spirit of fair Hollywood critique, we must acknowledge a certain pattern of 'drama within a couple's retreat' storyline. Yet, given Noyer's track record with his debut horror-thriller, and Zima and Nam's stellar performance history, we can't help but be cautiously optimistic.

Isn't it fascinating to be part of the entertainment world? Every time a script is unfolded and a cast is revealed, I feel like a kid in a candy shop, and guess what? I just spotted a gourmet jelly bean. Hello, "Love is the Monster." I can't wait to see how this thriller unravels.
